Hi all, long time no see :)

I have had this Driving Force Ex for around 2 years now i think, but recently the steering has started to go all over the place, mostly when turning left. I will explain this the best I can.

For example when I turn left and up until about 25 degrees it will hardly recognise it and keep going straight. After that it will think I turned completely and go all over the place. If the force feedback is on it will rattle heaps, not knowing how much I am turning.

To put it simply, the wheel is not detecting the steering correctly. This happens on my PC as well as my PS2, and I believe something in the wheel is not detecting the steering correctly. Is there any way to fix this? I am willing to take it apart but can't afford a new wheel. :(

Probably a new wheel job mate, unfortunately. Optical sensor, cogs, motor, whatever might have died.

I took the clamps out and the normal screws. Could see the cogs inside which seemed fine. Needed some special screw driver to take the top off properly. Shame, the wheel is still useable, just a nuisance. Thanks for the reply. 👍
