Hi all, I've been googling for the past hour to find a new Logitech Driving Force GT for under £90, my budget is 80 pretty much if I include some money I got on my birthday.

The trouble is, Argos is out of stock, as is gamestation, and game :grumpy:

I can't see how this wheel could be so damned difficult to get hold of considering its popularity.

Does anybody ( from the uk preferably ) know of a store I could purchase one from, brand new and delivers?

I would use Ebay except I do not trust ebay one bit.

I really didn't want to make a topic asking this but after a fruitless search online I know gamers tend to know more about the best places to buy things at a better price ( Logitech are expecting people to shell out over £100 for a 3 year old product :nervous: )

So guys, where would you suggest ?

As far as I can tell, this has sold out nationwide (worldwide?) and it doesn't seem like anyone knows when it will be back in stock. The 3 Argos stores near me have stated "2 weeks" for new stock since before GT5 was released. Game, Gamestation and Amazon have been out since about the same time. One site on google shopping states 'in stock' but you run a real-time stock check it states "-65 units". Looks like a massive shortage.

Sorry I haven't been of much help but I'm in the same boat as you, so to speak.

Well GT has a bigger brother wheel now, so to speak.
Maybe Logitech are winding down production.

Generally specialty controllers (fighting sticks, racing wheels, guitar controllers, ect...) are SLOW sellers EXCEPT around the time a popular new game that uses them ships. Demand for the DFGT probably went from darn near zero to "OVER 9000!" when GT5 finally shipped, and when retailers who had been sitting on stock sold out, Logitech and Fanatec and the other makers were caught flat footed... since GT5 has had such a terrible time nailing down a release date... and still 2 months later are struggling to catch up with demand... PLUS retailers hate to order large quantity of these higher ticket gaming items because when demand dries up then they just sit and sit... it's a vicious cycle, and it just means that when you want an item like this at a time like this you need to be a little lucky and a lot persistent. Good luck!

big update.. rang argos customer services and they promptly told me that new stock of the particular wheel I'm after will arrive in their main distribution warehouses on the 9th feb.. good news for those of us who are wanting to purchase without paying an awful lot of money.

( argos states the price as £84.99 whilest direct from Logitech it is £119.99 )

hopefully this isn't argos fobbing me off with some very half hearted lie or that it indeed will be in stock shortly, in any case, I used the text and reserve option and will be notified by text when stock is available in my nearest store.

Here's hoping :)

Any joy with your Argos? Still looks to out of stock near me.

yeh mine was in stock again recently, instantly reserved it and picked it up yesterday morning, I also received my New Slim PS3 yesterday which was kinda funny as I wasn't expecting it to arrive yesterday, was ordered on the 5th from catalogue and they suggested it would arrive within 14 days but couldn't be anymore specific than that.

It's a shame my old PS3 had YLOD but it WAS almost 4 yrs old so it's done quite well, I would also like to say.. WOW, wheel is pretty sturdy and driving is a challenge with it, But I'm learning and I guess it'll take a while to get accustomed to it but heck, It's a Damn good wheel for the price.

Also, it's my first ever Steering wheel for a console/PC so I'm really chuffed with my purchase :)

Update;
Both my local Argos and Game stores have the DFGT in stock. Looks like a new batch had been produced. 👍
