I have found that when I drive (I have an MC2 but find I do the same for all pedals) I prefer to have one foot on the gas and one on the break. This gives me the benefit of heal toe driving with less error and since I don't need that left foot for clutch it's all plus in my book.

I find the time spent getting my right foot from gas to break pedal can be all the difference between saving a turn and going into the wall. Also it lets me be on the breaks at the same time I am on the gas (something I first became fond of in 24 hr lemanse on DC) which also can at times be a saving grace.

Some of my friends use the one foot per pedal approach so I am wondering, how do you drive?

I have the DFP and i use my left for the brake and the right for the gas. I tried using one just one foot like you do in a real car but It doesn't feel right. I also have a lot more control when I do it that way.

i use my left on brake and right on gas, so i could use more control the car.. like press both at same time (20% on brake, and 90% on gas) so i won't lose any speed

I really think if you're going to use the DFP, you should use two (2) feet...as it does give you more control over brake pressure & throttle control...well, at least for me it does! :D

yeah, just like i say, left on brake, and right on gas

My left foot is not part of this game... only used when I use a real clutch.

In real life driving, it is only heel and toe technique.

Both, although that may transfer to a bad habit when I start to drive. :scared:

I have 2 feet

My DFP has 2 pedals.

That works out nicely. 1 foot per pedal.

Like you said eah? MMM...Not really! Why? Simple! You stated your own personal preference...And that's cool! However, my comment was directed to everyone who has a wheel, that they would be better off using two (2) feet and not try and use one foot for each, as is the case in real life!

See the difference? Probably not! But....that's ok!
To each their own! :D

im only 16 so i havent been driving for very long, but i have used a wheel for video games for a long time and ive always done 2 feet on video games, yet ive noticed when driving a real car it doesnt work so well, espically not now that i have a standard@!

I find it quite impossible to drive with two feet. I have zero control over the brake that way.

It may have something to do with the fact that I've been driving cars with one foot gas/brake for about fifteen years now. And, as mentioned by someone else above, I drive a standard, which makes it even more impossible.

Apparently I'm in the minority. *shrugs*

I can't do the two foot thing either. Like others, I've been driving (and racing) cars with my right foot for way too long. Occasionally I'll left-foot-brake, both in games and my real car, to cancel out some understeer, but that's a special condition, and not something I do regularly.

Only use 1 Foot

How the hell do you use 2. It doesn't feel right but then again i've only ever driven manual veichles.

Do you think the majority of us uses automatic vehicles? :yuck:

I use all my 3 feet on clutch, brakes and gas. Simultaneously.

with gt4 i use two feet. with pc games
With pc games what? Don't keep us in suspense like this.... I've got to know...

with gt4 i use two feet because i'm lazy... and with pc games i use two because i play with a manual clutch pedal as well.
lol i just woke up i forgot to finnish my sentence. I hit enter, then forgot about the topic

On GT4 I left foot brake.

The one day, I found myself left foot braking in my road car (it's an auto).
That was weird, but it worked fine.

If it's good enough for the majority of F1 drivers....

I use both feet. This is very similar to go-karting (where you can't use one or either foot, or if you do, you might just meet the barrier very quickly, or not move at all, ha ha!).

It is also good for practising trail braking into corners, a real technique used by many professional (and gran turismo!) drivers to ensure equal weight distribution going into corners. This technique allows you brake late and into corners as well as helping to avoid understeer or oversteer. What I understand of trail braking is that you try and balance acceleration and braking relative to road conditions and balance the destablising influence of abrupt or overtly vigorous application of brake and accelerator. The advantage of practice is that it should be good for your lap times.

I also try to do this in daily and actual driving. It takes a little while to get sensitivity in your left foot, especially if you are used to only using the right one but I am improving every day......

Ya, I also use two feet. In real life I drive an automatic so I only use one foot, but I have no problem at all switching from real life to GT4. I think if the DFP had a clutch pedal it would be SO much better.

i am using both feet. if there would be a clutch, i would still be breaking with the left foot, and just break with right, when i need to shift down.... but even, if you got a sequential gearbox, you dont need the clutch to shift down, just the right timing for the plip, then it works fine. :)

I drive, with my awful plastic Ferrari steering wheel, with one foot on the accelerator and one on the brakes. I'm gonna sell the Ferrari wheel at my local car boot sale on Monday, to some sucker!:sly: Hopefully I'll make enough to buy the proper GT4 Wheel...

I drive with both feet on the DFP, but this is not unusual in real life racing. Watch the footwork of any WRC driver and they will be left foot braking the whole race. I have always owned manual cars but I have driven many automatics before. It has nothing to do with that, In real life driving you will use only the one foot for gas/brake. In real life racing you want the instant power off, brake on and vice versa. So when you can, use 2 feet for gas/brake. The WRC cars though do have electronical clutches which is why they can do this ballet with the pedals. In any car that has a traditional clutch you have to use right foot for gas/brake and left for clutch. Other thing i have noticed to is that the plastic platform on the DFP is not great for 1 foot heal to toe. 2 feet are best when possible and on the dfp thats all the time.:)

barichelllo doesnt left foot break. friday i'm gonna try out driving that New BMW-Sauber F1 Simulator. I'm already pretty sure i'll be faster left foot braking. i like to lfb to balance the weight while cornering:to keep from under/oversteering.

i use one foot... on the count of im just starting to drive (with permit) and i used two feet with the dfp and when i went to drive in real life i stared using 2 feet and thats bad:tdown: so i now play gt4 with one foot:sly:
