So I have been using a steering wheel for dragging ever since I started back in June. At first, I just enjoyed it but as my tunes were getting better, and the reaction time was more important, I noticed I was always getting "tree'd" (My e-brake was the circle button). At first I dismissed this as ghost lag, but even in 5 bars & 5 stars rooms I was still not getting the jump. Then yesterday, I ran with SMOKEYYx562 in ACRs. After a few close runs, he then sent me a PM which stated that my tunes were solid, but my reaction time sucks. I said I know but I'm using a wheel and the e-brake is the circle, also in an awkward position. I tried different button assignments but still noticed a significant lag of when you let go of the button and when your car actually launches. SMOKEYYx562 suggested using the DS3 then gave me his configuration at which I tried and instantly wasn't getting "tree'd".

So to anyone out there using a wheel, even though it is more enjoyable to drive, a DS3 WILL get you better launches.

I might be getting a g27 for christmas. If not il go buy one and test this out as well. Right now I'm just hoping the joly old fart treats me to a nice playmate to hibernate with when I'm not working :p

DS3 FTW! I have a Logitech Driving Force GT but it ... lost its..... force 👎

Try using a small amount of the foot brake. You can off quicker with less lag.

If that doesn't work, do the e-brake launch control trick. Instead of holding the e-brake and flooring it, press the e-brake so it engages and let go of the button, then slowly rev to wherever you launch the car from and hold it steady on that rpm. Depending on the car, you'll either start to roll or you'll stay stationary. Obviously, it won't work with he cars that roll. So now that you're at your rpm, not moving, and only pressing the gas, just floor it once the ghoster goes ghost. No lag at all.

Well if you had pedals with a clutch you could probably use a wheel, just hold the clutch and release at launch.
