Hey guys, well as you are all probably aware, christmas is on its way around. Well I want a wheel for the PS2 and cant make up my mind what to do.

I've seen the new wheel for GT4 but im not sure on the release date to it. I've also spotted the Momo wheel in a few shops.

What does you guys think would be my best option?
To wait for the new wheel to come out or to go and buy the Momo wheel. If anyone does know a release date on the newer wheel it would be a huge help.

I believe the momo one is only for computers :odd:
Though i could be wrong... but i suggest the logitech or madcatz.... i personally have the madcatz one, and i think it's a good wheel. it's also compatible with xbox, gamecube, AND ps2 altogether. It's called "MC2 Universal Wheel" or some thing like that.... it's around 80 bucks CDN: because i recently bought another one. However, if you're going to purchase a copy of GT4, then you might as well wait for GT4 to come out along with its specially built GT4 steering wheel. :)

I'm pretty sure that you can use the MOMO wheel on the PS2. As long as its USB it should work. :)

The GT4 wheel works for other games too, right?

Believe so - Logitech have announced it will have a 'legacy' mode which will emulate the old Driving/GT Force.

The new logitech wheel comes out on the 21st of November in Australia, and will cost $(AU)299.95. It is compatible with all the old driving force games.

For all the games that don't have 900 degrees steering, it automatically reverts to 200 degrees steering. So far, only GT4 will have 900 degrees steering.

Thanks for the info CloneHead, it was a big help in nearly making my mind up :)

So it seems that the driving force wheel has a problem with braking, maybe it would be worth waiting for the new wheel or spending an extra £30 and getting the MOMO wheel.

But I would like to know, if there a problem with the Driving Force with everyone, or just every few, the web sites make it sound as if it is only random ones that have the problem. So does every wheel have the problem?

I think it is pretty random. If you check out the Logitech wheel faq in the GT3 forum (a sticky) I have posted a link to where you can fix the 70% braking problem. (If you are good with a soldering iron.)
The "old" MOMO is very good. (I use it myself) The new momo, is not compatible with all the PS2 games.

If you are patient enough, I would recommend the new GT4 wheel. Which is probably out before christmas. And it costs about as much as the momo.
