I know there's the Driving force pro, but for some ridiculous reason the shifter is on the right, is there a steering wheel or set up where, the shifter is in the proper place on the left? The shifter has sequential shifts in a H pattern? There is a clutch pedal?

Are there any steering wheels that incorporate any or all of these?

Thanks.

sequential shifts in a H pattern?
there is no such thing, it´s either "H" or sequential
the shifter is in the proper place on the left? - oh those aussies ;)

If i began to drive on the left side of the road.. Hmm, that would atleast be exciting. But i dislike hospitals.. Think im gonna stay on my right side.. Sweden is in europe btw. :)

For Japanese, Australia and the UK the left is the proper place to drive and have a gear stick!!!

PS We also use MPH in the UK but all 3 GT games so far haven't recognised this! (Not to mention BHP/PS)

So use the paddles!

It's not a big deal. I've been using wheels since '97 on the PSX, and until the Logitech wheel (which has no stick, just paddles) they've all had a stick on the right. It's not a big deal - you adapt pretty quickly.

Mount the steering wheel upside down, under the desk. Hey presto, the shifter is now on your left.

Not officially you don't. And there was an option to get MP/H in GT3 for sure. And yes, all countries in Europe EXCEPT the UK drive on the right side of the road. It's actually incredibly silly that this hasn't been harmonised yet (either way, driving on the left has advantages too), but I could see how this is difficult.

oh that might explain it a little, the europe thing

but it's a Japanese game, anyways i had a thought has anyone gone to the length to cut it and move the shifter? or perhaps can someone tell me if it's just wires or is there a circuit board which would cause trouble if i was to cut and move it.

In PAL version?!

I don't remember seeing it...

And on the talk of "Harmonising" left to right... it'd be impossible...

There are 50 million cars in this country all with right hand drive... what would happen to them?

Plus all the roads would have to be remarked and reshaped to create the correct cambers and entry ways into the roundabouts/junctions.

And just think if you changed to the right hand side, you'd be screwed for all the good Japanese cars, forget importing, and you'd probably end up getting the cars that america gets like the america spec ones, such as the 240SX. (it's good but no where near as good as the SR20DET S13/S14/S15)

Plus if I can ever afford it I want some insane UK cars, TVRs, Aston Martins, mmmmmmmmmmmmm, that's what I want.

Exactly... the sole reason the Suzuki Cappuccino, Honda Beat and Daihatsu Copen are sold in the UK is because they don't have to change the car at all!!

PS My GF owns a Cappuccino!

Single seater racing cars have their gear shift on the right, no matter what country they are from.

The Vauxhall Astras in the BTCC are left hand drive models even tho' we're a right hand drive country.

For the moment, I think they're reverting back to the real way, or, they were, this was on a GP about a month ago.

And Daan, I like your 406, it's like an Integra only a 6 cylinder, very clean

When they had gear levers, they were on the right hand side.

Most cars specifically built for racing (i.e. single seaters, GTs, etc) will have the gear lever on the right hand side, regardless of the side the driving seat is on.

Cars that have been homolgated for raceing from road cars will normally have the gear lever on the same side as the car they are homolgated from. Its not unusual for the road car to be left hand drive, but race in a right hand drive market. The BTCC Vectra is a good example of this, the homologation car is the Opel Vectra (which is left hand drive). Vauxhall/Opel have raced the Vectra is a number of series throughout Europe and to simplify the process used a source car that is avaliable in the majority of markets.

The McLaren F1 (road or race) has the gear lever situated on the right and as we all know the F1 has a central driving position. So just sit back with the new wheel and think of an F1. :dopey:
