Maybe it's the first, IIRC we heard first about a "white powder" case and only after about the Ferrari data being passed to Coughlan.

Anyway, the "powder" issue has resurfaced, this is what I've just read in F1-live.com:

"Allegations of sabotage against sacked Ferrari chief mechanic Nigel Stepney have intensified this week in Italy.

Amid this year's famous espionage scandal that became known as 'Stepneygate', it also emerged that the Briton was being pursued by Ferrari and Italian prosecutors for allegedly trying to sabotage the Maranello-based team's charge for victory at Monte Carlo in May.

According to the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, the white powder found in Stepney's trouser pockets have now been analysed at length by a laboratory at Modena university.

The results of the investigation reportedly indicate that the powder, determined to contain phosphate and calcium, matches the substance found in the fuel tank Kimi Raikkonen's F2007 before it was shipped to the Principality to race."

If this results to be all true, it really seems that Stepney was on a personal vendetta against Ferrari (Jean Todt?).

So he put powder in the gas tanks to gunk up the engines?

Wow, this guy is a total loon.

... he carried it around in his pockets? :odd:

I'm getting the impression that Stepney's planning skills do not match those of his former employer...

A lab in Modena is bound to be completely impartial though, aren't they?

I thought this is what sparked the whole spy-scandal, with the police accidentally stumbling across the SMS-messages between Stepney and Coughlan while investigating the powder?

freakin moron, he shouldn't have put it in Kimi's tank before shipping to Monaco, he shoulda put it in right before the race!

Yeah, I don't think this is so much "Stepneygate 2" as it is the courts reporting on their findings from Monaco last year. Kind of like a prequel to the main event.
