I'm all for turn 10's attempt to stop corner cutting by putting sticky grass and tarmac that slows your car down in certain spots on the track. But some of the places they have put this are stupid. take turn on at silverstone, if you go wide o this corner you enter the run off area and you are then powerles as the a.i or other gamers drive away while ur wheels are spinning trying to get out of the glue they have put there. Run off areas should be that, a place to go if you make a mistake not to be punshed twice. Another one on silverstone is the long right hander after the the first set of s bends at the end of the straight, if you out break yourself there your already going to lose a few places or time on a lap but no turn 10 have placed the sticky stuff there aswell so your punished twice its very frustrating. they need to sort this out quickly.

I agree. It's very frustrating, especially in a race with tough competition. I doubt they will ever make any changes to that though. Not enough people complain about it.

Agreed it is a little annoying but I have found a solution to this! Stay on the track:idea:

I can take it if I mess up on my own and get stuck in it but if I get bumped off and then get stuck in that stuff on top of that then that's when it gets the most frustrating.

The grass along the inside of the Indianapolis oval always seems to grab me if I so much as brush it with the sidewall of a tire. I really didn't need any more reasons to hate an oval track.

Not quite the same, but there are also a lot of paved and totally unmarked areas that cause lap/drift invalidation. No painted line (or an ambiguous one if present), no cones, no grass, no curb, just a completely invisible penalty zone. And in the opposite case there are spots where you can mow down cones or leap a curb with no penalty at all.

Inconsistency is the key irritating factor here.

I actually found it pretty cool.

I was much more frustrated when in GT5 people were going out of track and coming back again at full speed and smashed my car. Or shortcuting every corner in Monza. At least that doesnt happen in FM4, you have to stay on track.

Those velcro-like grassy patches are great for slowing your car down after a long straight.
