Welcome to the StigSport Tuning Company. We don't build the fastest cars in GT4 tuning but we hope to provide an enjoyable driving experience.

All of the cars tuned by StigSport are tested at the Trial Mountain Circuit (Reverse).

The lap times posted could be improved by a better driver and are not an indication of the car's true performance.

If you review a car built by StigSport, you can request a car. You must send the request in by Private Message.

Most of the tunes here at StigSport use the "Tranny Trick". I have provided a step by step guide below.

1. Adjust the final drive ratio to it's highest value
2. Set the auto slider to 25 then set it all the way back to 1
3. Adjust the final drive ratio to a setting that will work well on the track you are racing at.

NOTE: The cars that were originally posted here (the Avantime and the Skyline) were moved to post 6 to make room for the Lap Time Board.

Lap Times (Vehicles in italics are not tuned by StigSport)

1. Godzilla II (Nissan Skyline GTR '00) - 1'19.354
2. BMW M330i - 1'33.181
3. Lotus Elise 111R JPS - 1'33.432
4. StigSport MG TF215 Cup - 1'36.334
5. StigSport Avantime MKII - 1'39.095
6. StigSport Avantime MKI - 1'41.104
7. Mitsubishi Evo VIII RS - 1'41.316

Now this is how a garage should be opened! Good work Stig, I will definately be looking out for this garage as time goes on.

I've gotta get my new tunes ready now!

👍 Nice stuff! Been playing GT4 again the last few weeks, doesn't age does it :dopey: just looks worse on the HDTV lol

Looking forward to more tunes from you :) Defo going to try out this Avantime.

Godzilla II - Nissan Skyline GT-R '00

The original Godzilla was the racing version of the R32 GT-R that was so dominant in racing series across the world that the rules were changed to stop it from it winning, in some cases making it ineligible to race. Nearly 20 years later, it has a successor. Meet Godzilla II, a 2000 model R34 GTR with an astonishing 842hp. The main drawback with having this much power is that it is ineligible for almost all major motor racing series.

Not an Evo-Beater - StigSport Avantime

In series 11 of Top Gear, the presenters were given the challenge of making a Renault Avantime faster than a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. They were given a budget of 15,000 GBP, which included the price of the car. They failed, with the Evo X posting a lap 7 seconds faster than the Avantime. This inspired me to build my own Evo beating Avantime, and see if I could beat Top Gear. I tried not to use a wing and splitter as the wing slowed Top Gear's Avantime and Jeremy's splitter caused the Avantime to catch on fire.

BMW M330i

The M330i is a true wolf in sheep's clothing as it can rival it's bigger brothers the M3 and M5 but still look like an average 330i. The only outside hint to the performance of the M330i is the lowered suspension and a set of BBS wheels.

Lotus Elise 111R JPS

The Elise 111r JPS pays tribute to the classic JPS Lotus F1 cars of the 70's and 80's with its black and gold livery. The 111R JPS also follows Colin Chapman's principle "Performance through light-weight" with it's total weight of only 758kg.

Renault Avantime review:
Evo beater, you say? A bit ambitious if you ask me. After testing the car, I'm not sure if it lives up to that reputation. The car has a myriad of problems thanks to its generous amount of horsepower. The wheelspin is a pain in the arse, and will probably render this car impractical for races more than 3 or 4 laps long with extreme tyre wear. The car also suffers from power understeer, and therefore it is unwise to go balls out on the corners. The set up for the transmission is very vague. It tells you to do the tranny trick, but it doesn't tell you which auto setting to revert to after doing it. In Auto 1, the car has a very limited top speed of c.210km/h. So for the love of God, don't take this out on the Wangan. I've fixed this by setting it to auto 12, so the car has some breathing room on straights. It's a good concept, but it's weighed down by understeer, wheelspin and a low top speed. Evo beater? I wouldn't say so, I would not recommend taking it to Amalfi in the hope of actually beating one. Maybe you could beat an Evo 1, or maybe the Lancia Delta Evo. Rating: 5/10.

I have recently been trying to tune the Avantime to try and stop the chronic understeer without much success. It is now half a second faster than before but still suffers from major understeer.

I am currently working on some other cars and I hope to have them posted by this weekend.

I can give you one hint that might help you. LSD.. Tune it correctly, and match it with shocks, stabilizers and camber.. And don't forget gearing.

Swap the spring rates around. Actually, 12/7 should be even better.

Sounds wrong but works. Also try less front stabilizer and more rear.

I think it works under the principle that softer springs at the rear would cause the car's arse back end swing out, thus eliminating understeer.

StigSport Avantime (MKII)
This is the new and improved version of the StigSport Avantime, which was criticised due to its chronic understeer. This new tune has improved suspension and gearing settings, and now uses a Fully Customisable LSD to reduce the understeer. However it still has the problem of major wheelspin under heavy acceleration, so it is recommended to feather the throttle through corners.

If I may review the M330i...

Factory Settings
I found the ride to be overly stiff, losing grip at crucial times on mid-corner bumps. On the other hand, there is little, if any, body-roll. For the drop into turn K, the front takes aaaaages to recover from the drop, before you can finally get on the power and power-oversteer your way out. Speaking of power-oversteer, the rear end is very loose (but controllable) on the way out of corners, but on the way in there is a lot of understeer while braking, so turn-in is poor.

The gearing doesn't really match the track: 6th gear is too tall, you don't get anywhere near the redline on the straights. Also 3rd gear is also a bit tall, it would be nice to have a bit more wheel torque to adjust the rear out of slower corners.

StigSport Tune
I like what you've done with the brakes! It makes the car much more adjustable on corner entry. Again, 6th gear is very tall, reducing top speed. And 2nd/3rd aren't to my taste: 2nd just turns the rear tyres into smoke, whereas 3rd can have the engine bogging down out of slower corners.

Rear grip coming out of corners is improved, reducing the chance of too much rear end drift under power. I was sceptical about even stiffer springs, and yes in some places they caused more loss of grip than the stock settings. But at the drop into corner K, the front end was quickly settled (better damper settings, I reckon), allowing the power to be applied earlier for a fast (and fun!) oversteer stance though the corner. Niiiice!
