This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock A-Spec Seasonals #37:

Beginner's Non-Race Car Challenge: Autumn Ring - 450 PP - SH
Intermediate Level Non-Race Car Challenge: Apricot Hill Reverse - 500 PP - SH
Expert Level Race Car Challenge: Red Bull Ring - 700 PP - RH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Best Lap - Total Time - Car - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight - Rabbit - Rabbit Total Time

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...hotiLFp3i88kP4fjOAJzbxl_w/edit#gid=2030933764

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then total time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on total time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best total time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

450PP at Autumn Ring:
373PP
- 1:38.592 - 5:25.562 - Toyota 2000GT '67 - CS - FR - 153hp - 1120kg - NSX Type S '99 - 5:25.923

500PP at Apricot Hill Reverse:
454PP
- 1:38.446 - 5:23.672 - Shelby GT350 '65 - SH - FR - 304hp - 1270kg - V8 Vantage '99 - 5:24.005

700PP RC at Red Bull Ring:
663PP
- 1:18.505 - 8:24.729 - Chaparral 2J '70 - RH - MR - 683hp - 821kg - Minolta Toyota 88C-V '89 - 8:26.238

This one was challenging. There are faster cars, but many of them are slower in the turns. I also had to get a line up without the Pescarolo C60 Hybride-Judd '05 which was getting times between 8:17 to 8:23. Eventually I stumbled upon a Minolta, Toyota 7, Sauber Mercedes group without the Pescarolo. I also had to get used to random cars going so slow out of some turns (e.g. final turn)...I wonder if they had penalties or were having engine troubles...:odd:

First two attempts with Lotus Elan got me 3rd with a 5:25, maybe the Elise was the wrong rabbit.

450PP at Autumn Ring:
421PP
- 1:37.560 - 5:21.182 - Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro '03 - CS - 4WD - 239hp - 1520kg - GTO Twin Turbo '96 - 5:22.063

450PP at Autumn Ring:
410PP - 1:35.610 - 5:16. 424 - Lancia Stratos ’73 - CS - MR - 185hp - 900kg - IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi - 5:17.159
The Impreza's pretty nippy for a beginner.

500PP at Apricot Hill Reverse:
493PP - 1:32.997 - 5:07.941 - Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00 - SH - MR - 353 - 1300 - RGT ’00 - 5:08.456

Went for the Dino to start with. Optimistic, especially as I had no recollection of the track whatsoever. Senility setting in so soon? Or maybe I have never driven it in reverse. Tried the Evora next. I knew the gears would be a problem but thought maybe this track would suit it more than most. It wasn’t that bad but it just felt too lazy and I gave up after a couple of second places. The Esprit Sport is a glorious drive here. Shame it was such an easy winner. I’d liked to have spent more time with it, but there are many other cars to try.

It's 499 pp so not too hard to get to P2 or P1 really but then he hunts you down. :mischievous:

Just getting warmed up in the BALLADE CR-X. 363 pp. seems doable.

Yep!

363 pp CS tires

500pp Intermediate at Apricot Hill Reverse:

440pp -
1:35.898 - 5:15.783 - Lotus Elise 111R '04 - SH - MR - 194hp - 860kg - Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary - 5:15.898

Took 3 restarts to get this one right. There was an RGT in the field and he kept getting by the Countach 3/4 through last lap. On the 3rd go he was held up by the Tuscan in P3, allowing me to pass by and run down the Countach. The Elise is just one of those cars you could drive 100 laps and enjoy every second.

I was trying to win beginner with Isuzu 117, then with the School Bus Yellow Miata. Those NSX's are just too fast though lol.

EDIT:

450pp Beginner at Autumn Ring:
356pp
- 1:41.xxx - 5:32.033 - Mazda Cosmo Sport (L10B) '68 - CS - FR - 126hp - 960kg - Honda NSX '95 - 5:32.152

Tried the 353pp MR2 for a few races and it just was not going to happen. The Cosmo is a nice drive, under rated for sure. I forgot to save the replay.:dunce: I am not sure on the best lap time, but for overall results I have a picture on my phone lol.

Not sure if I want to wrestle with a stock LMP, so I might leave the Expert alone.

Nice wins. I probably could have brought a few of those to the winner's circle. Those NSXs though lol. The Cosmo had enough guts to keep me from being rammed by them every straight.

500pp Intermediate at Apricot Hill Reverse:

499pp
- ??? - 5:05.385 - RUF RGT '00 - SH - RR - 380hp - 1330kg - RGT '00 - 5:05.898
That was fun, but if you want a real challenge...

493PP - ??? - 5:19.531 - RUF BTR '86 - SH - RR - 369hp - 1180kg - Corvette Z06 (C5) '04 -5:20.158
See if you can beat the RGT in the BTR. This was hard. Had to find a slower rabbit. 5:15 was my best race. Ackerman in his M3 is no slouch as usual.

and to complete the triumvirate -

470PP - ??? - 5:16.863 - RUF 3400S '00 - SH - MR - 320 - 1300 - Vanquish '04 - 5:17.427
This was a doddle in comparison.

Tried out a few more cars on the 500pp. I think the Elise is my limit though. Hard to find cars with SH tires under 440pp. The RS200 probably can do it if the RGT stays home.

That was going to be my next choice. The Focus RS, old NSX or one of the RX7s are always worth a go too.

Since the recent FITT event was in the RUF cars I'd had quite a bit of seat time. And they thought my BTR was loose! I barely move the wheel, it's all throttle control. Love it. Took a practically perfect drive. And I think I upset the Viper and RGT race when I passed them.

Sorry that the picture is a bit fuzzy, I was shaking a little in excitement.

Found a slow field in both Beginner and Intermediate.

I decided to take an easy run at Beginner with a stock Dino because I had a long day at work. So I get a line-up with a Focus RS rabbit. No EVO or NSX in sight. Where was this field when I needed it last night...

Then I run a stock Acura HSC at Intermediate. I get a line-up with a V8 Vantage '99 on pole and 2 TVRs that were my only competition. Neither of them were the Tuscan. The usual suspects were all home just like in beginner.:banghead:

Another weird one. RGT guy gets held up sometimes it seems. Might be based on where I put my car as I pass the group so he slows way down? I dunno, can't look away for a millisecond in the BTR.

Has to be one of the best challenges on GT6 ever. Feels so good!

You are right. The BTR really separates the men from the boys so to say.

The 359pp Alpine A310 is the closest beginners equivilant.

I have a feeling I will be driving both for awhile after work.

500pp Intermediate at Apricot Hill Reverse:
432PP
- ??? - 5:21.105 - Ford RS200 '84 - SH - 4WD - 246hp - 1180kg - Tuscan Speed 6 - 5:21.137

The Mazda RX500 is a fun drive on CS. Not won in it yet but the times are good enough given the right field.

First time joining this thread :grumpy: For the 450pp Beginner at Autumn Ring ,I found only 5 stock 400pp cars. So I tried one of the 5 stock cars. Really fun, the Elise keep rubbing my understeer ass

Not a particularly easy win but it handles lovely on CS.

It's going to be hard to find anything lower than the RS200 as we're getting into CS territory. Maybe time to try the Dino again now I've learnt the track.

@steve nfs Nice to see you joining in the fun here.

500pp Intermediate at Apricot Hill Reverse:
413PP
- ??? - 5:22.561 - Ferrari Dino 246 GT '71 - SH - MR - 191hp - 1080kg - Viper GTS '99 - 5:22.746

I was having a go at this last night, up against the Countach, and won it on the second attempt but it was messy, a bit off track and some unsporting contact. So I didn't note the time and had another go... and another...and another. The Countach was not willing to let me win again. Eventually I had to give up.
Today I got the Viper rabbit and won it first time but it was messy etc.... I was fearing a groundhog day but the Viper was a less formidable opponent and I got the clean win fairly quickly.

There is one lower PP car which might be in with a chance.

The Ghia Roadster has the right tires but the transmission strangles it. The Dome Zero was faster but still not competitive. Stratos maybe with a better driver than me.

I doubt there's any driver good enough to do in the Stratos. Try the Toyota FT86 II Concept '11. I haven't tried it yet but it's usually competitive. Not that fast in a straight line but it corners like it's on rails.
