This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock A-Spec Seasonals #52:

Beginner Level Supercar Festival: Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway - 550 PP - SH
Intermediate Level American Muscle: Autumn Ring - 500 PP - SS
Expert Level Rainmasters: Spa - 500 PP - SS

Repeat of Stock A-Spec Seasonal #9

Last time the records were:
Beginner - 413PP - Ferrari Dino 246 GT '71 - total time = 3:52.107 - MadMax
Intermediate - 386PP - Ford Focus ST170 '03 - total time = 8:35.959 - MadMax
Expert - 446PP - Acura NSX Coupe '97 - total time = 15:59.736 - MadMax

My results so far with a wheel and an automatic transmission:

550PP Supercar at Twin Ring Super Speedway:
486PP
– 40.716 – 3:40.253 – Shelby Series One Super Charged ’03 – SH – FR – 319hp – 1202kg – Zonda C125 '00 – 3:40.555

500PP American Muscle at Autumn Ring:
486PP
– 1:25.396 – 7:50.676 – Shelby Series One Super Charged ’03 – SH – FR – 319hp – 1202kg – Camaro SS ’10 – 7:54.169

500PP Rain at Spa:
486PP
– 2:54.776 – 17:11.155 – Shelby Series One Super Charged ’03 – SH – FR – 319hp – 1202kg – M5 '08 – 17:12.596

After trying to complete Spa with the Ford RS200 '84 for about 4 hours I ran out of time so I just completed all three races with the Shelby. It seemed like the rain kept ending too soon when I was in the Ford, but it would last longer when I was in the Shelby...

Yeah I've gotten various rains at Spa. I'm also passing P1 on the second lap so I bet this is pretty easy. I did it in all the RUF cars but all on SS tires, so not qualified for stock. Yet.

PAD, AT, ABS = 1 only

500PP Rain at Spa:
432PP
- 2:48.979 - 16:25.624 - Ford RS200 '84 - SH - 4WD - 250cv - 1180kg - RUF RGT '00 - 16:26.237

Driven as an hell in the first heavy rain laps then precision to close the driving lines when the track surface drys progressively...

500PP American Muscle at Autumn Ring:
432PP
- 1:30.197 - 8:07.823 - Ford RS200 '84 - SH - 4WD - 250cv - 1180kg - Shelby Series One Super Charged '03 - 8:07.931

No issues in spite of the very close arrival...

REVISED:

432PP - 1:28.704 - 8:02.010 - Ford RS200 '84 - SH - 4WD - 250cv - 1180kg - Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C4) '90 - 8:02.833

Potential to race under 8.00... maybe:D

550PP Supercar at Twin Ring Super Speedway:
The rally skill of RS200 doesn't suite the oval circuit race, pity!
I can push Ferrari Dino with the same 3:52 race time by MadMax but not better than 5th.
The winners usually score around 3:40 that means 12 sec less... looks too much!?

Ciao

Will not beat @lfm58, but few can anyway

– 40.360 – 3:37.421 – Shelby Series One Super Charged ’03 – SH – FR – 319hp – 1202kg – Saleen S7 '02 – 3:37.531

- 40.xxx - 3.42.xxx - Mazda RX500 '70 - CS - MR - 251cv - 850kg - Zonda + 00.692

I did a 340.2 to come 2nd to the Saleen earlier in the RX, but they just speed up on the last few cnrs to get away - I got the win only because the Zonda was fighting with a GT40 for most of the last lap.

Even harder is the 468pp NSX R. I got a 40.001 lap amongst a few 40s laps to end up with a 3:37.307 total time to come 2nd to the Zonda. They, again, just speed up for the last few cnrs. I have done about 20 races trying to get the rabbit on the last cnr, to no avail.

I also got Spa in the RS200 @ 17:05 to beat the California '08 by 00.15. Wont be doing that again as the rain/ice/oil/lard lap at the beginning is just stupidly unrealistic - steering and brake inputs need to be sent by post a week before you arrive at the corner, and you will still spin at 60kmh...on sport tyres, in a sports car, on a race track!

(Wheel, MT, no aids.)

Indeed the Super Speedway event is really sniky if you try to round only fast without a strategy.
I lost several races in this way even if very low 40 lap times and closing 3:37-3:38.
The Saleen can become a beast during the last lap if you are close too soon.

550PP Supercar at Twin Ring Super Speedway:
468PP
- 40.259 - 3:38.743 - Honda NSX Type R '02 - SH - MR - 280cv - 1270kg - Jaguar XJ220 '92 - 3.38.750

Never driven this NSX for a Stock Challenge, good suggestion.
Around 10x races to get Gold, better lap time during one of unlucky races: 40.060

Ciao

Likewise I could only manage 5th in the Dino. Madmax got his win against a TZ3 Stradale '11 last time. Maybe that's the one to look for. Got a close P2 in the 512 BB but I got a bit bored and fancied turning right for a change.

500PP American Muscle at Autumn Ring:
455PP
- ??? - 8:18.527 - Shelby 350R '65 - SH - FR - 305hp - 1268kg - Tesla Model S - 8:19.730

I wanted to do this in an actual American muscle car. Easy enough win.

500PP Rain at Spa:
499PP
- ??? - 16:57.595 - RUF RGT '00 - SH - RR - 380hp - 1330kg - M5 '08 - 16:58.686

Strange thing happening with the tyres here. Each time I entered the race they changed to SS. I change them to SH and they stay like that until I exit. Then next time they're back to SS again. There's no message like you get when the game changes them to meet regulations.
So the first race was on SS and no problem. On SH it was a very different matter. Very tricky in the wet. To get through 4 laps without losing it is a real challenge. I only span out once in the winning race.

I tried a few other cars before the Ruf.
Ferrari 512 BB - A couple of P2s. A nightmare in the wet and not quite quick enough in the dry.
Lancer Evo 8 RS '03 - Superb in the wet. You can just sail round the AI in the corners but once it dries out you soon get left behind.

Tried to be all FWD, but somehow become all Focus

550PP Supercar at Twin Ring Super Speedway:
435PP
– 41.720 – 3:46.064 – Ford Focus RS '02 – SH – FF – 216hp – 1050kg – Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car – 3:46.184

500PP Rain at Spa:
435PP
– 2:49.859 – 16:45.768 – Ford Focus RS '02 – SH – FF – 216hp – 1050kg – F40 '92 – 16:47.287

The F40 love spinning itself at lap5(retry and it spin again), let's take the opportunity.

500PP American Muscle at Autumn Ring:
386PP
– 1:36.243 – 8:37.669 – Ford Focus ST170 '03 – CS – FF – 164hp – 1240kg – Fisker Karma EcoSport '12 – 8:38.215

Tried Vibe GT but the best was 4sec behind. If you want proper muscle car the Trans Am is fine(Did it last time)
