This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock A-Spec Seasonals #7:

Beginner Level FF Non-Race Car Challenge: Nurburgring GP/D - 400 PP - SH
Intermediate Level 4WD Non-Race Car Challenge: Apricot Hill - 500 PP - SS
Expert Level FR Non-Race Car Challenge: Twin Ring Motegi East - 500 PP - SS

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:

A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Total Time - Best Lap - Car - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight - Rabbit - Rabbit Total Time

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kDEW2OWUxHfq9PTR4G4-HKXl3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then total time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on total time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best total time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

Thanks to @MisterWeary for setting up the spreadsheet this week. 👍

My results so far with a wheel and automatic transmission:

FF 400PP at Nurburgring GP/D:

384PP – 11:00.696 – 2:05.713 – Marcos Mini Marcos GT ’70 – CS – FF – 74hp – 559kg –Vectra 3.2 V6 ’03 – 10:58.892 [3rd place]

4WD 500PP at Apricot Hill:

After realizing the competition had many cars above 500 PP, was using SS tires, and had a 45 second lead, I brought out the big guns.

496PP – 8:26.666 – 1:31.507 – Ferrari 365 GTB4 ’71 – SH – FR – 347hp – 1200kg – V12 Vantage ’10 – 8:27.190

Well I had a bit of time last night and decided to try a few cars on each of the races...but I ended up spending an hour and a half trying to win the Expert race! I probably should have hunted for a better AI line up (after they originally gave me the Corvette Stingray (C7) '14 with a PP of 533!) but in the end I settled for the V12 Vantage (529PP) as my rabbit, it was quite satisfying to reel him in actually:

FF 400PP at Nurburgring GP/D:
340 - Honda CIVIC 1500 3door CX '79 (CM/82hp/780kg) - 2:05.xxx - 2nd Place
352 - 307 CC Premium AVN '04 (CM/141hp/1490kg) - 2:03.727 - 10:43.080 - Sunfire GXP Concept '02 - 10:43.188

4WD 500PP at Apricot Hill:
409 - Alfa Brera Sky Window 3.2 JTS Q4 '06 (CS/255hp/1750kg) - 1:44.xxx - Could never win stock so gave up
428 - Lancer Evolution GSR '92 (SH/245hp/1240kg) - 1:41.4xx 2nd Place
438 - IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi '94 (SH/266hp/1230kg) - 1:37.476 - 8:41.009 - SKYLINE GT-R M.spec Nur - 8:42.833

FR 500PP at Twin Ring Motegi East:

I would have liked to win with the little CIVIC but I just couldn't quite get in front of any rabbit, I could catch them but not pass them. In the end I enjoyed the challenge with the Alfa and Peugeot and as a passive protest to PD screwing me over with the FGT event and me now not having Chrome Gold, I used Chrome-010-W or whatever the nearest Gold I could was:

On the chrome line run the 1st Place car wiped out , then I tried Griffith 500 '94 and no wipe out..

Righty-O, spreadsheet updated. Not sure what happened but the beginner race sheet was all messed up so I just remade it 👍

@nowayback: Now that @MadMax has golded with that Civic I think I'll find some others to fling around. It was fun but my divebombing techniques don't usually result in clean over(under?!?)taking :)

Did I mess it up? :dunce: :embarrassed:

Haven't been using it before. I thought it would be a way of making A-spec. Seasonals interesting: To see how low in pp, one can go with a stock car. So i bought the Civic '83 and did the beginner race. Then i thought i might aswell contribute here with the data -and so i did. I see it has been removed -hence my question.

My apologies if i caused any mess with my unauthorized (?) entry.:nervous:

It's no problem, we encourage people to add their own data, not sure what happened but don't be afraid to add your own. If you're worried, just post it here and one of us will update it at some point 👍

After seeing @nowayback 's Shelby Series One I had to give it a go for obvious reasons, even though I do not like standards and this one's hood is so polygonal that the paint job makes it look like it's been in a wreck... The Expert event is the Snake vs the Stallion. ;)

Thanks MadMax for finding the Opel. This took more times than I care to admit! Finally won with some bumpdrafting help from a Mini in third then a rude pass on the Trueno thru the chicane. The AI lined up nicely for drafting. I know some folks hate the rubber banding but for this race it's cool how the rabbits adjust their times accordingly.

I won before this with 8:38 total time too , but reran (multiple times) for a clean race/replay. Also got 2nd / 3rd with 8:35-37 , this was a result of too fast laps early on..

A few more FRs

470PP
- 8:37.193 - BMW M3 '04 - SH - 339bhp - 1570kg vs Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 +0.687 sec behind , best lap 1:33.470 (passed rabbit in sector 2 / esses)

It seems that Z06 (C5) '00 and the Cadillac are the easyest rabbits for this race with cars that can do 1:34-33

The rabbits stock specs are:
Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 504pp/378bhp/1409kg
CTS-V Coupe '11 521pp/555bhp/1940kg

Spreadsheet updated 👍

Just a note for those editing old posts with new race specifics...I only happened to see those were edited but there's no way to guarantee those changes are seen and/or captured...I suggest just making a new post then there's no way it'll be missed. I think we all like reading everyone's challenges anyway :)👍

Motegi FR expert race.

I had a dash in an older RX7 and was so far behind I knew I didn't have the talent to get the win (Or the OCD to quit the race to get a "Soft grid")

I then had a look at the sub 500pp cars... and spotted and old favourite from GT4 - the BMW M3 CSL

However I still didn't have the talent! Took me a few races over a couple of days to finally get the win - but I didn't mind that one bit.

BMW M3 CSL
490pp - 354bhp - 38 torques - 1385kg - 3.91
ratio de power with Sport Hards

1m33.218 - 8m36.973 (4th place)- 8m28.7 for M5
I then repeated the race a day or two later...
Grids
Wimmer / Morales / Stone / Palmer / Lindberg / Morozov on the grid.
California/CTS-V / zo6(04) /Zo6(00)/ Jag XFR / Tamora

1m32.753 - 8m34.897 - 2nd - 8m32.1 (Wimmer)
1m33.182 - 8m35.888 - 2nd - 8m32.1 (Wimmer)
1m32.881 - 8m32.141 - 1st - 8m32.228 California (Wimmer)

very enjoyable - passing was key - but also good line and exit speed - Early races I lost loads of time rushing a pass only to burn up corner exit speed - No mistakes from the AI and no contact during the race. The fun bit was just improving my own laps and not getting caught into over doing it and eating gravel (om nom nom)

I've never really enjoyed Motegi - but the sneaky combo corners are growing on me now I don't ... eat gravel every other lap from bungling them up.

Matte Purple - But enough of my sector times...
