Welcome to the SRL. I´ll hope that the race will be tought to the final race.
This series has five races, and 5 cars. (cars are different and faster each week)
Timeline of races is two weeks, and over two weeks if I havent said that race is over. Races are driven at Time Trial. Single hotlap only!
Dont discuss laptimes, only checkpoint times.

Standard ORL are applied!!

First race is:El Capitan!

The car that you guys will use is: Jensen Interceptor series III
That car will be stock! No poweradding, no weight reduction, no tirechanging, AND of course, NO transmissionplaying.

Winner of single race will get 10p, second 9p, and so on. 10th will get 1p.

By stock tires, you mean Sports: Anything? And what about tirewarming? I thought in time trial, tires are always warm with no tire wear.
Sounds fun. Hope to see a lot of people.
 
What does "Single hotlap only!" means?You meant that only one hot lap after a warm-up lap or just post your best times?
 
OK. No single hotlaps. You can run as many timetrial laps as you want.
 
Can we discuss intermediate times??? Final time is submitted by PM? Sports Medium tyres only? El Capitan fwd or rev???
 
The first outlap in the time trial mode also gives you enough time to speed up. Moreover, there is no concept of fuel burn, tire wear or tire warming in this mode. So I would say that you don't need to have the first hotlap restriction. It will help by the racers not having to quit after every lap to start another one. We can just work with the fastest hotlap.
 
His competition, his rules and it has to be different from everything we've been doing so it attracts more participants and it's a bit more interesting...
 
I like this track and this car! Its difficult to stop it from sliding... First quick and dirty run: 35.855 / 1:18.660
I don't think I still have the correct line... hope to shave off some seconds (!!!) from this time...

Quick question - Could we please have precise details of when we have to send in times ( by PM ?? ) , ie a time and date, a deadline. I know it says two weeks but is that for Race 1 or all 5 races ????

Could we have a bit of clarity please!!

Wow.....the task is really hard.Especially the car,it had a terrible understeer problem,have low torque and revs and have only have 3 gears!But i did manage to pull a lap time,not the best out there,but i'll try and improve my time.By the way,i was using a steering wheel and using manual transmission if that is okay....

In answer to the edit of Post 1 - I don't have the technology to provide a Video but do have a save which I can put onto Maxdrive - Surely that would be OK? If not I'll have to back out of this series which would be a shame.

I was going to enter this but the video requirement is to much to ask for. I do have a Max drive. :(
 
How do you provide a video? Can you just record the replay on your camcorder and send that file?

Well i could,but its just too complicated and difficult for everyone to do.Just submit the replay for the top three only.Then Puksis could just check it on his GT4.But its another problem if he doesn't know how....

When am i supposed to submit my time anyways?I should start improving my time by tomorrow.The time i posted was just an embarrassment :guilty:

Hmm... Actually, mine was a question, as to if this was the way to provide a video, or was there some other was from GT4 itself to capture a replay.

hehehe... not to worry. The earlier you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up! I need to keep my car under control and prevent it from going all over the place to have any improvement.
 
I feel that there are only 2 options
1) Ask people to provide a Maxdrive replay ( or something similar ) - which some of us have

2) Go on people's honesty- which I think we can count on here at GTP.

I am happy to go with either.
To ask people to provide a video is a bit too much IMO.

What do you think?

Personally for me, I don't have the max drive. My digital camera has the option of capturing low quality videos. So for me, if I were to provide a video replay, I would go that way. I however would not be able to provide a .max replay.

But I think we can go either way, or give the option. We could have anybody check the video replay, or the people with max drive check that format. Doesn't have to be Puksis who checks the replay. Or we could just go with the honor system, anyone willing may provide a replay. I don't have a problem with any of the above options.

Could you also provide a deadline for submitting the time. It says 20th August, but we are in different time zones...

Yep I agree with this - If people have the video technology then replays could be posted here, I presume.
If people have Maxdrive etc I see no problem in others verifying the validity.
Can't help you with the deadline - 20th August, I know, then I presume a time, as in WRS, against GMT!!!

this might have been a series but the lack of attention is not good. There have been a few questions brought up and not answered.
