This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible. Since SSTT#8 some of the gold time have become increasingly challenging to reach with this approach, and some have been shown to be impossible. These may require much more time and practice for some people. PD’s new format has started to include some TTs that require SRF to be on and others where it is turned off. Originally the courtesy car TTs which allowed SRF to be on or off had much more flexible gold times for the non-SRF users, and so were not included here, but now that gold is much more of a challenge I think these courtesy car TTs should be included here (provided the option to turn off SRF exists).

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

This thread is for people to post their lap times who have used the following limitations:

1) Car must be stock: no upgrades to cars are permitted (this includes upgrades that do not increase PP such as transmissions).
2) Fresh oil changes in order to temporarily increase HP and PP are not permitted. If you have done an oil change recently you should lower your car's power to the non-fresh-oil-change HP level or wait until the HP has returned to the OEM oil level.
3) You must use the original tires that the car came with.
4) No "Car Settings" like Brake Balance can be adjusted.
5) No SRF or ASM is allowed: other Driver Assists are permitted. [SRF is obviously permitted if PD has forced drivers to employ it.]

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #12:

Renault Sport Megane R.S. Trophy Super Lap: target 1:37.000
[Stock Megane R.S. Trophy '11 = 440 PP - 261 HP - 1,387 KG - CS]

Suzuki Cappuccino Super Lap: target 1:33.500
[Stock Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 = 339 PP - 63 HP - 690 KG - CM]*

Pagani Huayra Super Lap: target 1:42.000
[Courtesy Car]

* There are 2 entrants for this race: the other option is 13 PP less and 10 KG heavier and so probably not useful here.

My times so far with a wheel and automatic transmission:

Megane R.S. Trophy '11 - 1:39.006
Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 - 1:39.572
Huayra - 1:41.641

I was able to gold the Pagani Huayra in my first complete lap (after three or four complete wipe outs from just touching the curbs or applying too much throttle).
I imagine once I learn how to exploit the SRF the Megane lap might be doable (need to find about 2 seconds), but I strongly suspect the Cappuccino will be impossible without significant tuning (need to find about 6 seconds).

👍

Cappuccino

(Max PP-Stock PP)/Stock PP=17.65%

It's a lot, specially bearing in mind that lap times aren't a linear function of PP and at this PP value the derivative should be higher. My guess would be something like: LT=PP^y, 0>y>1, ceteris paribus.

And all those upgrades that do not change PP are not even considered. Will only have an opportunity to try on the 16th, but from this I expect it to be impossible.

Gold in the Cappuccino is not going to happen at all. A Silver is possible with an immaculate lap.

I have just done a 1:36.274 with a few messy apexes and I was behind my previous ghost [1:36.592] by a length or two in a few places.

Cappuccino - 1'33.743

Before anyone asks, it's completely stock and I suspect an alien driver would possibly find the extra 0.25 for gold :)

I know it's an overused track but this car really suits it!

Edit: Replay attached, for anyone interested

Just ran the Y-Ra lap. After completely mucking up lap 1 turn 1. (ABS=0 and going about 100 yards too late on the brakes made for a very heavy impact. - Even in the replay it caught me out!)

I chugged the rest of the lap, car felt on the edge - quite good fun. Managed to get Gold lap 3 I think by about half a second. But the car felt nice and unsettled in the corners - And lashings of wheel spin out of the slow corners. - I had a kiss on the Armco on the second lap and not only did it not Black flag me it didn't cancel the next lap, odd but glad it didn't wipe out the next lap.

Not looking forward to the other two events. (Mostly as I need to buy the cars!) - That said both are on Comfort Tyres... so maybe they will be enjoyable.

Why you little! 👍

I saw your 34.2/3 and replied with a 34.0 before this.

The Cappuccino lap is definately gold-able , just like the Renault Sport Clio R.S. @ Brands Hatch Indy Circuit was (SSTT#8) .. for aliens and alike.

My current times:

Megane R.S. Trophy '11 - 1:36.518
Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 - 1:33.895
Huayra - 1:38.862

EDIT: About the Cappuccino , use gears 2-4 and shift up at 7300-7500 rpm.

Where is this car sold? I don't see one for sale in the Renault dealer.

Hastatus, thanks for that tune. You helped me cut over two seconds off my best time.

Sorry, my bad. There was a thread with a tune in it for this, I thought this was the one. DUH. :indiff:

Megane R.S. Trophy '11 - 1:37.892 Still getting used to how daft you can drive and still go quicker with srf.

Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 - 1:36.074 I'll get the silver but not a cat in hell's chance of gold. Hats off to you chaps getting into the 33s.

Huayra - 1:40.466 Fun.

Edit - Got the silver after a few more laps in the Cappuccino. 1:35.436. I can see where I'm losing a bit of time still, but 2 seconds just ain't going to happen.

Bought a Megane (Noir Etoile - "Black Star" - A Paint chip with such a cool name I was in a good mood before I started the car up.

SRF on... But it is in a FF car, so maybe it will make two bad things will end up as a good thing?

... Maybe not. I am pretty useless hotlapping but this car felt ponderous in the corners...
Also all my low blood pH mates block my view as they pull ahead of me down to turn 1. (I really hope they have tuned their cars or else I am even worse than I imagine I am!) I need to turn the blue lines off as they really impede my "Aiming points" in the interesting twisty section after the underpass.
Managed to get silver after 10.7 miles - 1.7seconds to find... which may be harder with ABS=0 as I hammer the fronts under brakes (Locking up like a pro) which then won't turn or put down the power.

Engine - nice note but lower red line than I wanted.

I need to find the secret to enjoying a Front wheel drive car (Why is that little French Devil on my shoulder whispering "Utilisez le frein à main!" now?)

Bonne chance, les pilotes!

Can be done mate as I've got a 1:33.495 after 300+ miles in the little blighter, although if added up my best sectors point to a 33.2xx but I've got my paint chip so I'm done lol.

@kremmen64 , mind posting a ghost replay of that lap ?

EDIT: I just found you on the leaderboard currently#19265 , with a controller. And this has gotten me curious about your car's specs , power , weight and pp.

Congrats!

I think we'd all be very interested in seeing a replay of the lap.

1:38.152 cappuccino after a 10 lap run. about 9 secs off my competition time. lol what an adjustment!! Silver is possible- but gold is not going to happen!!

Went back to the Cappuccino TT and supprised myself with faster lap times. 1:33.619 and 1:33.579 (the latter one had a weak first sector)

So , I was determined to break that 1:33.500 barrier and sat down for a few hours cloking over 300km on the odometer and finally got gold with a time of 1:33.396 (replay attached)

Car: Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) '95 63 BHP / 690kg 339pp (100% stock , ABS 1)

I have no idea of exactly how you do that although it looks like you need to transfer it via USB

Incidentaly, nice time Max and similar mileage to myself - needs time and patience this one and in my case the ghostly blue lines to pull on :p

If i had a pound for every time i screwed up T1 or the final complex after being ahead of my ghost I'd be a lot better off :)

EDIT- Figured out how it's done so the replay is Here

DS3, ABS1

Interested to join the party. But I'll have to re-run those TT's cause my cars had an oil change and I changed my brake balance due to my no ABS driving style.
I couldn't reach the gold in the capuccino even with an oil change by the way. Guess it'll be more difficult for me with no oil change :scared:

Hey!

The Huayra was amazing. The sense of sheer speed overawed me. However it was the easiest of them.

Did the Megane in about 85Km (ABS 1, Clutch + H-Shifter).

In the Cappucinno was only able to achieve a 1:34.3xx after 230Km (ABS 1, Clutch + H-Shifter). I didn't had my pc with me so I couldn't check the replays, but will try again in two weeks. Clearly there is something I am doing wrong, my perfect lap wouldn't go under 34'.

Finally did the Capuccino, yay.

I was using @MadMax replay and i couldn't keep up with his ghost in the third sector. Only after I had an advantage of -0.28x at the second split was I able to gold the event with 1:33.401
Everything off, ABS 1, Sequential Paddles
(With H-****er+Clutch could only get to 1:33.676)
Took me 410Km.
