This is a thread series for the seasonal time trials that focuses on completing the challenges (i.e. beating the gold target times) with stock versions of the cars. This means that instead of maximizing your PP with upgrades and focusing on getting the fastest laps on the in-game leaderboard, you are attempting to complete the challenges with the bare minimum amount of 'car' and money-spent as is possible.

With the new more open ended format means that part of the challenge will be finding a stock car that has the lowest PP or lowest price depending on your view. It is also difficult to predict which types of tires a car will come with before purchasing.

Warning: Some of these challenges are getting to be extreme and should be approached with caution! :banghead:

In order to participate your car must be stock.

1) A stock car is essentially any car as it is when purchased from the dealership or won as a prize: it will have had no modifications, added parts, or adjustments done that affect how the car performs.
2) No oil changes are permitted: if you have had an oil change you must wait until the effects of the HP boost have been removed by driving over 300 km.
3) You must use the original tire type that came with the car, unless dirt or snow tires are required.
4) No changes to any “Car Settings” are permitted: they must ALL be left at their default values. [Note: cars that come with Fully Customizable Suspension that were purchased or won prior to patch 1.11 must have the suspension settings restored to default in order to be updated with the new stock suspension settings.]
5) No SRF or ASM is permitted: other “Driver Assists” are permitted.

Basically, the ONLY changes you may make to a car include: painting the car and changing a car’s racing number. Any other changes means your car is not stock.

Stock Seasonal Time Trials #22:

Nissan GT-R NISMO Super Lap: target 1:33.000 - Indianapolis Road Course - 600PP - SS

Race Car Super Lap: target 1:35.000 - Matterhorn Rotenboden - 550PP - RH

The Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:

A few members have begun a leaderboard of sorts where individuals will be able to input their info into a public document. This is not so much a competition as a way to compare all sorts of data. At this point the data that is recorded for entries is as follows:

PP - Lap Time - Car (try to include manufacturer) - Tires - Drive - Power - Weight

Link to the GTP Stock Seasonal Spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kDEW2OWUxHfq9PTR4G4-HKXl3veLfq0sXhvwiPYMUGw/

Notes about the Spreadsheet:
Tabs will generally be ordered with the newest seasonal events at the left.
Gold times are ordered based first on PP (lowest PP at the top), and then lap time.
Bronze and Silver times are ordered based solely on lap time (fastest time at the top): these entries will be grayed out.
If you are comfortable with entering your info please do so.
Only create one entry per car for your best lap time for that car.
To add an empty line: right click (PC) on a gray row number box and select add a row above or below.
If you make a mistake or change something you did not mean to change hit undo once or a few times.

Thanks to @MisterWeary for setting up this week’s spreadsheet tabs.

My times so far with a wheel and automatic transmission:

GT-R NISMO at Indianapolis:

574PP – 1:35.132 – Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

This one might be the first TT in a long time not to be readily completed stock. The only car option is 26 PP below the maximum allowed and this car weighs a lot. Maybe the manual users will have an easier time.

Race Car at Matterhorn:

535PP – 1:37.209 – Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe ’64 – RH – FR – 384hp – 1043kg
541PP – 1:34.775 – Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe 15th Anniv ’64 – RH – FR – 399hp – 1043kg
526PP - 1:34.374 - Lotus Elise 111R Race Car '04 - RH - MR - 261hp - 1034kg

Yep, the Nismo is hard work.... I've only managed a 1:34.278 in 20-30 laps and it's not looking likely that i'll find 1.2 seconds, maybe another few tenths if i'm lucky. :indiff:

Hmm, if you can't do it, then I might be boned. I'll give it a whirl a bit later.

1:36.481 in the Nismo after a few laps. I can see there's still quite a bit out there but nowhere near three and a half seconds. I'd hesitate to say it's impossible but I'm never going to manage it.

Edit -
A few more laps and just scraped a silver with what I thought was a pretty ok lap. I think that'll have to do me.

Indy Road Course:

GT-R Nismo ~ 1:35.911

Matterhorn:

Evo X Rally Car ~ 1:34.001

With everything off. Even in a car as stable as the Evo, that downhill braking section is rough with no ABS. :nervous:

1st post in the thread... thought I'd give the GT-R a go at half time in the England match.

GT-R NISMO at Indy:

574PP – 1:33.530 – Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

Set with the DS3 in c.30 mins, and have been a couple of tenths up on that, so a 1'32.xxx should be possible with more time and a wheel.

Quite surprise how nice the car feels stock... expected it to be an understeering mess, but it's not. Now I understand why PD set the cars up as they do - they work quite well with the DS3.

The WRS had a race at Indy only a few weeks ago and so I had some good miles on that track:

GT-R NISMO at Indianapolis:
574pp | 1:33.768 | GT-R NISMO '14 | SS 4WD 591bhp 1720kg

That's as close as I could get. I'm sure a D1 WRS'er will get there...my money is on @MadMax or @Stotty :)👍

Spreadsheet Updated

Race Car Super Lap: target 1:35.000 - Matterhorn Rotenboden - 550PP - RH

524PP - 1:34.750 - Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 - RH - 4WD - 413bhp - 1,010kg

Much more fun than sailing the good ship Nissan.

I like these race car ones as it gives me an excuse to buy a new car :)

Race Car Super Lap: target 1:35.000 - Matterhorn Rotenboden - 550PP - RH

Bought the Calibra DTM (after flipping a coin over this and the Alfa :P) and although it did'nt take long to get the gold it it was a blast.

GT-R NISMO at Indianapolis

Used the stock Academy Nismo car - took me nearly an hour to get gold (think it was a 32.9) - Tough one with a pad as Stotty aluded to, especially T4 turning right under heavy braking, but overall a nice car to drive compared to most GTR's - hides it's weight well :P

Had a go at the Matterhorn and enjoyed it thoroughly:

Race Car at Matterhorn:
515pp | 1:34.536 | Acura NSX LM Race Car '91 | RH | MR | 373bhp | 1045kg

She's a squirrelly little sucker but heaps of fun when you get it right 👍

@kremmen64: I've added a GT-R time for you but I don't know which Calibra you mean and without exact times I normally just put a time in that is as high as possible while still meeting your description.

Don't bother buying the 20,000,0000 credit Ferrari 250 GTO CN.3729GT '62 for stock challenges. It's a nice racing car but it only comes with CS tires! It is way too much car for these tires. :scared: You'll be in the mid 1:50s. I tried RH and found that it could nearly compete with the Cobra Daytona Coupe even though it is only 474PP (295hp - 880kg - 2.98kg/hp; and the Cobra is 535PP: 384hp – 1043kg - 2.71kg/hp).

I got gold with the stock new GT-R, I've used no more aids than ABS1, it's a bit tricky but doable, a gold that tastes gold finally.

The car feels better than I expected, I've attached my PAL replay in case you want to use it as ghost.

574PP – 1:32.770 – Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

It was a 33.7 iirc with the Vauxhall - I was driving, flicking over to watch England - good grief ONLY 2-0, back to GT, repeat for an hour or so :p

Whoever golds the Nismo GTR TT stock is a very good driver

1:33.8 for me. It would take me a very long time to get near gold

GT-R NISMO at Indianapolis:

574PP – 1:32.963 – Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

Race Car at Matterhorn:

485PP - 1:34.359 - Honda S2000 LM Race Car - RH - FR - 315bhp - 1050kg (I had a strong feeling this car would be good for gold the moment it got to last corner before even starting a lap at 115 km/h)

And the drift trials I completed in Honda S2000 '06 and Opera Performance S2000 '04

@kremmen64 , gold in the Nismo with controller , that lap/replay I sure would like to see.

Well here's one DS3 replay for you :p

I turned in too early for T7, other than that not much to complain about. A perfect lap would be in the .5's but to be honest, I don't think I'll get there.

That was a tough challenge, had to spend 70km to get gold with the ds3 (ABS:1 only).

Some fast times posted, wow. Can't touch those but got my shiny Silver and done. Man, I have a rough time at IRC. Keep overreaching the brake zones. Feel like there's more but after an hour, it's quitting time. Dig this GTR for sure!

Off to the Mountain now. Glad you guys have some cars posted up. Over.

Very little time spent on this beautiful track setting before. Learning by crashing over and over...Couple of complete flips!

Car can only go about 120mph so it makes funny noises on the downhill, lol.

474pp - 1:34.402 - Citroen Xsara Rally Car '99 RH FF 294hp 960kg

Indianapolis:

574PP - 1:32.994 - Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

I did some laps on thursday and jaust managed some mid 34's.
But as seen, gold was possible with the stock car, so i had to try it myself.
I spent literally the whole evening up to now and 211.1 miles to just barely achieve the gold.
But gold it is.:)

Matterhorn will be next. ;)

It does feel like the old S license tests of GT1 and GT2, uh? :D

GOLD!!!

GT-R NISMO at Indianapolis: 574PP – 1'32.891 – Nissan GT-R NISMO ’14 – SS – 4WD – 591hp – 1720kg

Elapsed time it took to achieve this was approx. 1 1/4 hours. I was originally only going to give myself an hour to see what I could come up with but I was so close to the Gold time I decided to keep going. I didn't enter this into the spreadsheet so if someone can do that for me, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again to @Hastatus for putting these threads together and thanks also to @MisterWeary for the spreadsheets. Really enjoying these events, they really help you to appreciate the cars in their stock form. 👍

I quite like updating the spreadsheet but I can't get to it as frequently as I like, rather than repeatedly post update messages in here, I'll just "like" posts as I put them in or I know they've been done...lets you know if it's in the spreadsheet and it keeps me a very friendly person too I suppose :)

Some great times being put down 👍 As for the NISMO being like a license test in GT1 or GT2...it seems like only the upper tier are getting that Gold time, I've been able to Gold all licences as a middle tier driver. If this were a licence test in GT, I reckon it would go down in history as "OMG...teh hardest eva!" :sly:

Hats off to all those getting gold with the Nismo. My excuse is that I don't like the car and don't much like the track, and I'm having too much fun trying to do Matterhorn with a sub-500PP car. Down to three hundredths off gold in the S2000 LM. Brilliant job by @WhoosierGirl in the Xsara.
