Does anyone else find the stock wheel tilt of the G27 (and I'm sure other wheels, but I've only owned a MOMO Racing and G27) to be way too much? Meaning, it is tilted upwards.
The stand is tilted downwards, but the wheel still has too much tilt IMO. Most people use a flat surface/table to mount their wheel, so the tilt is even greater. This is an issue when drifting, as the excess tilt during quick countersteering will naturally pull the wheel downwards and put strain on the wheel connection, eventually making the wheel have more play because of the accumulation of stress on the joint. I find that when I am drifting, sometimes I even pull the back of the wheel off the table due to this effect....
I have a custom wood cockpit, and I am wondering if anyone has modified their wheel to tilt downwards? It would require modification of the mounting surface, however this would be a huge job for my wooden cockpit, so I was thinking of adding blocks to fill the space created at the clamps/back of wheel after the wheel is tilted for optimum angle.
