i like the idea of a prefex then the desired name.

CF: "what ever you want here"

easy solution.

I don't mind it. I can almost always tell if it's the convo forum. The titles can be quite witty too.

i.e. the current one :)

I say stick with the funny titles. Perhaps a poll would be handy Blake. We could find out how many people are opposed to the funky thread titles.

How about the recycle bin. In the new posts link, it shows the forum that the thread is in. Take an extra moment and read one more word. Or check the posts count.
I think you misinterpreted what I was saying...

I'm saying in the main forum, outside of the rumble strip. Like this:

I know in this case the Convo title is obvious, but other times it's more misleading.

You are correct, I did mis-interpret what you were saying.

I wonder if perhaps, Jordan could exclude that forum from popping into that link. As it is, the convo forum tends to occupy that link most of the time. Excluding it would make the lives of the majority much easier.

However, I'd run the risk of further alienating the Convo users.

If you want convo thread to appear in the new posts link, use GTP Lite.

simply moving the convo thread to its own section will fix everything also!

Or get someone that can at least come up with good ones.

I'd still like it to be "I'm James Brown *****"

Actually it's Rick James, but close enough I guess.

 Oy... that's the point, my friend was watching that show and for a month started saying that line but one day started getting it wrong and using James brown.

But is it that hard to click on "The Rumble Strip" first, so you know that the thread is actually the Convo thread?
No offense, but it's your fault that you're being lazy and can't click on "The Rumble Strip" first, not the mods' fault for changing the title.

It's not hard. Heck, I'll do it all the time if I have to. But it's annoying. Really annoying.

It's annoying to make one more click of the button?
I don't see why everyone is complaining about this. Besides, clicking on "The Rumble Strip" allows you to see all the threads, instead of just clicking on one thread in the rumble strip from the home forum page.

Can the mods stop changing the name of the Conversation Forum threads?

I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but when the name changes every time I log in, it can get very annoying when I see a thread title that looks like it could be an entertaining read, but it winds up being the convo thread. I mean “Crickey!”, despite the incorrect spelling, could be anything…

If mods would leave the thread title as “December 2005” it wouldn’t be as confusing and it wouldn’t look as messy.

If the name is changed, i just use the post count to tell the difference because the convo forum has A LOT of posts and even more views.

Really, have we not had enough of this? If nobody else has, I have.
