Stopping gear change in automatic.

I was playing GT3 recentley and found out that while driving with Automatic transmission, if you hold down L2 and R2 the computer won't change gear. I dont know if anyone has noticed this in teh oast. I have searched for it but found nothing.
Are there any benfits of this? except for maybe really long burnouts in the Speed 12 etc.

well no not really as you can just use manual. also this has been posted many times. Good find just search next time.

yes, this is well documented....also if you hold down L2 (or is it L1) while in an NA car in 6th gear you'll ge a little boost of power...

You only have to hold one. And I'll be checking on that NA boost tonight. Sounds fishy.

the benefit is that if you are using an auto you can rev past "official" redline in gears higher than 2nd.

I think if someone figures something out without knowing it already exists, it's a true display of intuition and deserves some acknowledgment.

I knew this trick a long time ago. I use it all the time, since I use an auto tranny every time I race. Of course, there are some cars you just shouldn' use it on. Like the Skylines, or Zondas for instance.
