I beg your pardon!
I dont know if this is the place to post this, but I have a strange situation and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it and found a solution.

My brother and I are avid online racers. We live approximately 10 miles from each other. We both use PS3 slims. Totally different PSN handles and GT5 names.

Here's the problem: When we go into a room, I can see every one in the room including him. He can see everyone in the room including me. But when we get on the track we cannot see each other. Our names do not appear on the scoreboard to each other. It's as if we dont exist to each other while on the track. the funny thing is, we can both race with everyone else on the track as if nothing is wrong. After the race I can call him and he can give me details about the race we just finished (separately) and they match exactly as my race unfolded except if I win, he'll show the guy that finished second as the winner. If he wins I'll see the second place (to him) as the winner. After the race is over, back in the lobby, we can see each other again.
Then the cycle repeats when we go back on the track, Neither of us are there to each other.

Any ideas?

One of you need to upgrade his router.
Don't ask me why or how, but as soon as I did, that problem disappeared.

I saw this once between 2 friends of mine, funny thing was in the replay they were sharing the same peice of track for the whole of lap 1 & were lag ramming the hell out of each other, but on their replays there was not a sign of each other.

All I can say is that 1 of them had a real bad connection, I'd suggest you both check your ping & speed here: www.pingtest.net & www.speedtest.net

Hope that helps.

Happens to me too!

I would like to add that you will notice a series of bars going across the bottom of their name.

I had this in an online race at grand valley I took the lead on lap 2 but on lap 3 it appeared another car had joined and was really in 1st place. i saved that replay for evidence and I guess he was always there but invisible on the track and in the positions lol.
