Strange problem!

Well here goes, earlier today surfing the net was as always, stable and no problems, everything working and what not. Then Ive just turned on the PC to find that Google wasnt working, Yahoo wasnt working, MSN wont sign in, and my flkr account woulnd load!!!

So I ran a virus scan with up-todate Avast and it didnt find anything, The problem is I keep getting the No sever found and MSN says its something to do with Key Ports.

MSN was working then I signed out and back in and its gone caput, Now every other site is working apart from Yahoo & MSN but Google is back and search times are less than a second.

At the moment we are having the broadband upgraded to 8mb with virgin so im wondering if it could be the sever we are connected to, but the problem is other people are having the same problem with MSN as me.

My flkr account is now letting me sign in, but all images are broken. any ideas would be apricated.

Running Firefox (latest) and Win XP SP2
 
How odd. I was having the exact same problems earlier. Only GTP and another forum were working for me. Using a proxy, like anonymouse.org, seemed to make all the websites work. MSN worked, didn't work (with the server errors poping up), then worked again all on its own.

Luckily, it seems all websites are working again without me doing anything... :odd:

You're not on NTL by any chance? :D

Edit: Argh, it's doing it again...

Anyone else having this problem?

Ok Ive just checked everything that wasnt working last night and they work fine, but Apple's site dosnt work now!!!! strange.

Ahh, I thought by "Virgin" you meant a credit card or something. :lol: One of my brainfarts...

Everything is back to normal this morning by the way. 👍
 
Me too, but in my case nothing works because of my CRAP router which disconnects if you blow on it. :irked:
Well cant help you, I vaguely remember something like this happening but I think it was MSN having site updates or something.

Wow never knew that, always good to know, so it looks like it was a sever problem at there end, definatly a bit of a panic mode at this end, I was hoping it would be them but you never can tell if the pc has been compramised until the last second.
 
Yeah, neither did i until i noticed that my friend (who uses virgin)'s IP address was at NTL. Apon further inspection, it said something like "NTL for virgin.net".
