Evening all, after a recent trip to Scan computer shop I clocked eyes on a full Logitech G27 setup running with Need For Speed The Run, even though my time using the wheel & pedals was about 30 seconds because I had to collect my order I've been left wanting more!

The problem is my apprenticeship isn't exactly the best paying apprenticeship in the world and after rent & other bills being paid off I'm not able to throw £250+ on a setup.

I've done research online regarding streering wheels & pedals and majority of them have mixed reviews so I'm a little wary of what to purchase & what not to purchase.

I thought this would be the best place to ask what your set up is, how you rate it & what price you paid for it.

Any help is appreciated.

I mean you could go with a Logitech DFGT. It's pretty much the best budget wheel.

I agree with purchasing the Logitech Driving Force GT, I had the G27 and bought it "used with little use" for about 50$ less then full sticker price on EBay and after about 4 months of gameplay the Force Feedback motor was completely shot :( I bought the Driving Force about a week later (almost a year ago) and have been extremely rough on it running endurance races with the X1 etc and it is just as strong as the day I bought it!

The Driving Force GT is a very nice wheel. I love mine.

The driving force GT is the best entry wheel and is nearly bullet proof.

Lol maybe the guy lied and used up the force feedback my buddie has a driving force gt and his clutch broke :( now you can get a g27 for the same price buy something from logitec, register it on their website they email you a 50% off discount on whatever and get a g27 there was a thread about it a few days ago 👍

Love mine too.even when I use a f1 car, drifting it,and drag racing with it.it's the best steering wheel I ever gotten because I only got one and it's the dfgt

I have the G27 but have also used a DFGT and as mentioned by a few already, they feel very robust and are a great entry wheel combination :)

Too bad you aren't in Australia. Brand new off ebay at the moment are G27's for $199AUD inc. postage

Cheers for all your answers guys, much appreciated.

Sounds like the Logitech Driving Force GT is the way forward then. :D

Once again much appreciated.

DFGT. Can' go wrong here. Best for it's price and you can literally beat the hell out of it and it will still work. Pedals are a little meh but overall a great wheel.

In my opinion the G27 is the best wheel for its price... I actually own a DFGT and a week ago today i killed it... I got it march 20th 2011 and it lasted till a week ago... But i wish i had gotten the G27... I have used it at a friends house and seen it in action many times on GT5 and it having so many advantages (being able to have a clutch, being able to engine brake, actually cut the cars off in GT5... I mean being in the middle of the DFGT and the stupidly priced thrustmaster (i think is stupid you pay $500-600 for the wheel and you can't even use the clutch until you pay an extra $150 for the shifter i my opinion that's pointless)... Makes the G27 the best bang for your buck...

I meant price range wise....

Yeah but how much is the DFGT right now? I know i can get a brand new G27 for $240 i mean compare the specs on what it does vs. each other... But yes if you just want a great 900° wheel go with the DFGT but if you want to have a lot more for a little bit more cash get the G27 i am currently saving for it

Bought a "refurbed" DFGT with pedals on Ebay for $75 (shipping included) a little over 1.5yrs ago. I race in a league with practice almost every night for at least 1-2 hrs without any issues.

For the price and being a starter wheel, nothing else is even close to the bang for the buck a DFGT gives you even if it's not the best wheel.

$100 CAD at a very well-known big chain store.

Seeing as the OP is in UK he should check out Agros.co.uk
