dont know if this has been asked before. But I really want to know, what happens when you paint cars that have stripes? do the stripes go away?

Case in question: 2008 Dodge Challenger, I have one in an ugly shade of gray and I want it to be red with the charecteristic black stripes but I dont want it to be solid red

I also want to know what happens to the viper, Camaro, etc.

Viper ACR '08 the stripes disappear when resprayed
Ford GT (no stripe) the stripes APPEAR when resprayed
Ferrari 430 scuderia the stripes stay when resprayed

Don't know about the 2008 Dodge challenger, but someone will come along soon and help you out (I haven't got that car).

Also two tone cars like the Bugatti Veyron and the VW Samba bus will become one total colour when you respray them.

Welcome to the crazy world of GT5 👍

I sprayed a '96 GS Vette the other night red and the white stripes stayed and the fender recognition stripes were barely visible (slightly different red).

I've painted two 00' LM Camaros and they become one solid color except all the Chevy and sponsor decals still appear.

Interesting. This may give me some hope... I won a Cobra in red. It's not _hideous_, but IMO a Cobra should be Guardsman Blue with white stripes. Or silver with black stripes works too. In fact, a silver with super dark purple (hmmm, something like Midnight Purple 2 or 3 maybe?) would be cool too.

But solid color Cobra's just don't look as nice (IMO). If I painted it, would they appear?

Is there anyway to request/suggest an update that would allow us to add or remove stripes or second tones? (even if it was kept to just a specific type and location of stripes or 2nd tone, just give us control of on/off and color)

I had the Shelby Cobra in solid Charcoal and wanted the stripes. I tried painting it Guardsman Blue, but there were still no stripes.

I got the Shelby Cobra in green with white stripes, and repainted it a metallic blue, and the stripes disappeared.
I was not happy (

Bad news. :( Thanks for the info though guys. Guess I will have to spend the 530Grand to pick it up in the colors I want. And that means it'll have to wait, especially as I have a prize version already (and many other hyper expensive cars I want to buy), but, that does make it more viable for my drivers to beat on (with it being my only one, I don't trust them with it lol).
