Alright, now, here's an example. You buy a Camaro with a full uniform paintjob, no stripes. Respray it a different colour, and stripes show up on the hood...What's up with that? Is there any way for them to not shot up? I wanted a solid Matte Black Ford GT, but the stripes showed up on it...This blows...

I hear you mate. I wanted to paint my all white Ford GT one of them Maziora colors, was a white with a pink tint to it, and I got freaking black stripes!! It's AWFUL looking! PD at least add a third color option for cars with stripes. Imagine a Camaro Z28 '69 that's white with red stripes...👍

No real fix

The Ford GT you can get with no stripes -

The Series One Shelby looks odd with some darker/matte stripes after you paint it.
Guess you have to just go with the sublte strieps it leaves.
Happy with
Midnight Purple,
a Matte Silver chip
and a WR Mica Blue also turned out quite nice -
but all three have obvious residual stripes

Viper 98 GTS can't get (Or at least couldn't get) a respray

Shelby GT350R however after it was sprayed obliterated the stripes, leaving a nice highland green "Bullett-ish" Mustang.

Chevelle couldn't get resprayed either back in the day.

If you want to get rid of the stripes completely, can you do so by equipping a carbon fiber hood? At least, that's a possible solution for Premiums...

I think I might know the answer to this. If for example you bought a blue car with black stripes and one day you decided to paint your car black, in order so you can still see the stripes, the game will automatically switch the colour of the stripes so you can still see them against the black body. But I think that if the car was bought without any stripes then it's possible that it is a glitch. But no real problem here...

Yeah - I got the MACH One Mustang
bought it yellow so I could repray it black - to match the big black stripe... no deal the game automatically put in a contrasting (white) stripe...

Waiting for the Tartan Paint chip

But there are many more issues with this, like cars losing stripes after being repainted (not so much of a deal to some) and cars getting stripes after being repainted even though they didn't previously have stripes (as mentioned in this thread).

Yeah, I once bought a Camaro without stripes, and when I paint it in a DLC paint, suddenly stripes came out and ruined the original plan (I was trying to make it camouflage-d)
