In GT4 Prologue i tried to use my Logitech MOMO force and my Thrustmaster Ferrari FF, but they both didn't work. I was wondering if in the full version they are working anybody having some experience with these wheels. Or which wheelss do you use to play the game ??

Odds are that if the wheel didn't work in GT:P, then it's not going to work in GT4....

Therefore, if you're looking for an alternate wheel, the first choice would be the Logitech Driving Force Pro, or DFP for short! :-)
The benefits are too much to list here, plus the fact that there are other threads on this topic where you can find out all that it has to offer...
Another option, also from Logitech, is the original Driving Force, as seen here
I would assume that since it was released just as GT3 was coming out (Or was it shortly after? Darn it! I can't remember.) there should be some compatibility with GT4 but only time will tell...

If you're not a big fan of Logitech products, then you can always take a look at the MadCatz Universal MC2 racing wheel, seen here
NOTE: Look under Playstation 2...it's the only wheel shown... :-)

Now, if you live in Europe, there's the 360 Modena® replica racing wheel from Thrustmaster, which is also compatible with all consoles on the market today..

Hopes this helps?

But they both did work in GT3. Plus the Thrustmaster has an icon and statement on the box that say that it is supported on PS2. So i was hoping anyone in here will tell me that it will work in the full version of GT4

It might say that it's supported by PS2, but who said it's supported by the game itself?

So sit back and relax.. And wait for an answer.

I have a good tip. sell both those wheels and get a DFP. :) For your sake i hope it works. but you really should sell those two wheels and get a DFP>

But they both did work in GT3....

Taken straight from the horses (Logitech) mouth....specifically look at the bottom of the page where it says the following...

The PC Force Feedback products (Which by the way refers to your particular wheel) are not sold or supported for use on a PlayStation2. However, some of these products will have limited functionality on PlayStation2
...which itself explains this post by Logitech.....

NOTE Specifically, look at the bottom of the page and you'll see this..
Yes, Logitech MOMO Force wheel works with Gran Turismo™ 3 A-spec..
....

Additional Info:
From a Logitech employee, posted just over two (2) years ago on the Wingman Website..."GT3 was written and shipped with support for some wheels built in. These wheels were the ones that were shipping (or close to ship) at the time when GT3 was released..."

Now this sort of tells me Sony and/or PD knew that Logitech was coming out with this particular wheel & implemented the necessary software to allow the wheel to work...Now fast forward a few years and we see that:

A. GT:P is released..
B. Logitech is no longer selling the Momo Force...
C. Logitech, in connection with Sony, release the Driving Force Pro...
D. The DFP is marketed as the 'new' wheel made just for GT4....

Now, wouldn't common sense tell you that the Momo Force is NOT going to work in GT:P? To me it does...

Bottom line:

"What's worked in the past is NOT an indication that it will work today or even tomorrow!"

Whooooo im never selling my MOMO, hands down best wheel ever !!
I have both and the DFP is better. The MOMO is in a box up in my loft.

For GT3, the MOMO is better. The 900degree mode of the DFP isn't really supported in GT3.

For games that support the 900degrees GT4:P & BMW demo (& GT4 itself), the DFP is much better. (I know the MOMO doesn't work with any of these, but if it did the DFP would still be better.)

Exactly. At the moment I have made a set-up with 2 PS2, i-linked and GTConcept (no GT4 here yet in PAL-territory :(). On one of the PS2 I have my Momo Force, on the other my DFP, which I bought for Prologue.
Best wheel by far is the Momo!

Wasn't it for the compatibility with GT4 and the 900°, I'd prefer the old boy : better FF and more robust.

You must be joking. Have you maxed the DFP feedback? It also uses newer technology and the Momo is FAMOUS for pedal and general failure.

Concept supports the 900 degree mode of the DFP.

The original Driving Force is faulty and doesn't work properly with GT3.

the force feedback is so strong for the DFP that when i max it out in LFS it shakes my whole desk including the computer. Its awsome force feedback and i willhave to disagree. first of all its more advanced force feedback, more precise force feedback. And it has 200 degree and 900 degree steering lock.
Plus it looks cooler in my opinion

I spent 150 dollars US on mine . well spent money :)

I see that its $109.00 on Newegg.com now

thats the cheapest i've seen anywhere so far.

when u add shipping and handling "and for me, tax" it is almost the same :P a little cheaper. if u buy more than 2 or 3 things at the same time on newegg, then you actually save some money. Or spend 0ver 300 bucks. then you might save 30. I got my 9600XT 256 mb videocard for $165total, when it was $202 total in stores though . :)

Besides better prices, Newegg's service is really what puts it over the top. 👍 They are superb. If every company operates like them, we wouldn't need the BBB.

I'm pretty sure Newegg doesn't ship internationally, unless I'm really clueless. Anyway I can't access their site at the moment.

Does it stand for theBetter Buisness Bueroe? ( I can't spell)

Also.. Does anyone know how the driving force pro handles in Gran Turismo 4? Im guessing it is much easier than Live for Speed, but i would like confirmation. How close is it to real life... lol.. maybe i should start another thread asking that question. :dunce:

No they don't, which is unfortunate for me. They really do have decent prices on some stuff.

And yes, BBB = Better Business Bereau. The place to go when you want to complain about crappy companies like DELL.

lol, if i dont get a reply to my question im gonna post that question in the driving force pro thread.
