I was fastest overall on round 6 before they reset 6-5 for the second time so you would have thought that i could easily qualify for the national finals. Apparently not, my best time so far is only a 31.924 and i have only improved by just over a tenth since midweek. I don't know whether it is just this car that doesn't suit me but it is really quite frustrating. My best sector times only make a 31.716 and I know I will need a 31.2xx to make the nationals :nervous: :banghead:

Not to sound offensive bandit but nobody was putting that much time into the other events and I said this to alot of people who were putting so much effort into all the tests, the main reason being they meant nothing. I only spent a little time on them because I enjoy doing events like that. I know most don't care about those tests which is why the boards weren't that competitive!

Best tip is not to be aggressive with the car.

I know that, but I didn't put a great deal of time into them either

My dad has identified a problem with excessive play in my steering wheel, will see if we can fix it, hopefully that will help

I wouldnt be suprised if you gained another half a second or so, practice helps and a fresh mind lets you concentrate, and have a coffee too haha.

Could just be the car, I have a similar problem by the sounds of it, that's why I put AS on, if not try increasing FFB :)

I know I have a bit of a problem with the car but practice should have cured that, the slight play in the wheel means that I can turn the wheel about 5 degrees either way without changing the actual steering input which means when I think I am correcting tiny slides i'm not and i'm having to turn the wheel further which inevitably causes me to lose control and even if I don't lose control I am losing time. We have got the wheel apart now, trying to fix it.

bandit iam also not at one with these slow road cars iam from pc racing open wheel racing think we have the same problems.I was watching amo's lap and i think iam trial braking to late in the turn which is what upsets the car wonder what you think gonna try again after the 24hrs
P.s which gear do you use 2nd then mid shift to 3rd or stay in 3rd?

I upped my FB to 8 and within 10 min., I improved my .850. Helped greatly with the feel of the car.

I might try that now, I had it on 1 FB before. There was no success in taking apart my wheel, the only way to improve it would be to order new gears for the inside as they were a bit worn or just get a better wheel. I'm currently using a DFGT.

I was suprised to see you down the leaderboard...i expect you will improve vastly as your skills in previous rounds do count for something.

I downshift to 2nd and in apex of corner short shift to 3rd before i even get back to throttle it worked for me. Sitting 3rd US with a 31.313

hikingbestjr can you post sector times i hope i can get down to 31.3 next week need to put in the hours though

Turns 2-5 are killing me, especially turn 2. I can't seem to get past 1:33.75. I've watched the replays and I know the line, I just can't seem to follow it. I'll keep practicing. I was in last years GTA and made the first cut, but I'm in pos 900 now (US). Some insane driving to beat.

I guess I should have saved my replay to find out. :ouch:

There are no splits shown when I'm racing.

@Bandit
**Check your equipment. Last night I realised my Acc Pedal wasn't 100% depressed. I tried some other pedals and within a few laps instantly quicker. I can see < 1:31.7 today

I think it calibrates the pedals at anytime, you just need to press them all the way. There is no custom calibration option for pedals. :'( Which most pc games have.

Also there is no way to *trick the calibration, Im sure if you only press the pedal 1/2 during calibration it will not deem that as full pedal depression for the rest of the session.(Why does it calibrate at all?)

The DFGT set I am using, I bought for €50 in a shady back alley deal(from GT thugs).
Then I bought a new set for €100 in argos, and that wheel now presses the PS button at least once every lap :/

Now using the old wheel + new pedals, and it calibrates/works fine

i ve got the t500rs and have never pressed the pedals during calibration hope thats one of the reasons i am in the 32s fingers crossed

I use brd sim pedals on the pc as they have longer travel than the thrustmaster ones

Have you tried Logitech's warranty service, it is awesome.

My accelerator pedal was glitching and not getting 100% throttle but I took it the pedals apart and fixed it so that is working fine now.
