Stuck on Autum ring 500pp FR challange

No matter what car I use I can't beat the shelby series one supercharged car.
The race starts with the Shelby about 25 seconds ahead of you and when on the last lap am still about 12 secs behind and I get second place always.
Cars iv tried:
RX-7 Spirit R
RX-8 '03
Z4 '03
Fairlady Z Version S
Concept 1 Series tii '07
competizione 8c

Funny how I struggle on this track and got gold for the other 4 racers:crazy:.
Any tips on getting gold on this?

Lotus Evora. That is how I won it. It's a Premium and I think there is a few tunes around for it.

The most obvious solution would be not to race against the Shelby. Refresh the game until the Infiniti Coupe Concept or the BMW Z4 is on the pole. That will make a world of difference. Easy gold for sure.

Also you could try driving a Standard Honda S2000.
 
Have you thought that maybe its not the car your struggling with, Maybe you need to practice more and sharpen up your skills.

Oops, FR challenge. I was not paying enough attention. I was thinking of the B Spec one. I should learn to read.

FR 500 PP, try a Toyota GT12 with a Praiano tune. Sorry for my lack of attention earlier.
 
I have managed to do it now,I used the alfa 8C and beat the Shelby by 5 secs.

I tuned an RX8 by reducing weight as much as possible, then tuning the engine up to 500pp. All the pp free bells and whistles were added too. I usually catch the Series one towards the end of lap three/start of lap 4. Tyres are SM and Traction 2 and ABS 2 are used with no other other aids.
 
I also noticed that this was a difficult one. At first i figured, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and tried to use the shelby. I won but i was hard. When I finished that race i went to the USD to look for anything that would compete. I came across the opera s2000 and even though i hate s2000's i dicided to give it a try. I tuned it to 450pp and i caught the shelby at the beginning of lap 4. If you have the Opera, give it a try, you won't be disappointed
 
I used a Z06 (C5), only non-PP affected tunes, and had a blast. It always come down to the last RH'er in the end. You don't get much of a bonus, since stock it is 499PP out of the OCD, but it is a hoot to drive. I used it on all of last week's courses, and had a great time with it.
 
I think the Opera Performance 350Z will do it for you.
 
I used the premium RX-7 de-tuned... Smooth is key!
 
08 Dodge Challenger...It's one of my league cars so it's tuned VERY well & it smokes the Shelby.
 
Can the Opera S2000 be used for this? It's an excellent car at 500PP and a tight track like Autumn Ring is perfect for it. I used a Mazda Miata TC downtuned to 474PP with 195 Horsepower and won with a lap to go, and the Shelby was in the field, so maybe you could try that as well? Good luck.
 
Yep the opera s2000 does wonders tuned at 450pp. I also have now done it with a detuned vette z06, either will get the job done
 
I did it with the honda 2000 '06 (tuned til 500pp) is a great handeling car
