...
Operated by three Sony PlayStation® 2 processors, the compact electric six-axle simulator can represent complex changes in posture, and an updated cockpit-styled controller and quick steering (2.5 turns from lock to lock) provide a realistic 'driving' experience. In addition to the sense of speed, drivers actually feel the changes caused by climbing a hill, get the 'roller coaster' effect of bumps and dips, and, through the seat and steering wheel, experience the feedback caused by a change in road surface or when the car goes off the 'road.

Too bad there is no picture

I don't need a picture because MissGT and I drove in it. 👍

Swiss Alps with a triple screen. Not fun if you haven't used a wheel/pedals before. It's over before you know it. Now that I have used a wheel, I want a second chance.

I would kill to have one of those.

I didn't see the video, but i'm guessing when you take a sharp left turn the simulator would tip right, so it feels like your actually cornering?

correct. and yes.. I too would kill for one of those. but they're not available to buy.

I bet they would make you one for like half a mil.... I'll check into it when I win the lotto.

Not half a mill, but I saw a forum discussing making a home made sim.
It would be nice, but it has to be done right, too.

What I don't understad is how can one be made for GT if there aren't special hooks into the game? I presume that the 3-screen display and hydraulics make for a special sim-seat version being required.

MasterGT

Yes, the mechanical part is obvious but what puzzels me too is how they did tosynchronize the 3 Playstation2. But I seriously doubt there is a "simulator edition" of GT3.
I would sell my grandmother for one of these.

3 PS2's iLinked together. Central one is the one you control and shows driving screen, outside 2 are in broadcast mode and show views to the right and left.

Thanks for the explaination, it makes sense.
My 1st reaction was: it must be an eternet network or something like that. Maybe an unfinished version of online gaming of GT3 was used .

Are you sure that there isn't another way they did it?

The one we were in had 3 screens for the player (left side-view, centre w/car, right side-view) and one for broadcasting. You can see the 3 screens in pictures of it, too.

To have the extra wide player view, there has to be something special going on.

I drove in it at the Toronto auto show last year and I got first out of everyone who ran it before me:) but yeah anyways I was talking to the guy and he said that there are 3 or 4 PS2s I cant remeber because it was last year, but there is one for each of the 3 monitors in the simulator (left, center, right) and then where the fourth one comes in is outside the simulator there is a plasma tv showing a replay, except it wasnt a replay it was in real time (I dont know i-link so im not sure what this is)

I drove it last year at Montreal Auto show in Subaru's booth, I was all excited about it but was a bit disappointed. Sure, three screens wide vision is great, but they were only 15" LCD panels, and the all the thing can do to simulate cornering forces is lean left/right, which feels a bit weird at times. For simulating bumps, nose dive during braking and elevation changes, it's ok though. And the steering wheel in it had way too much mileage, there was almost no force feedback.

I'd very much like to try it in a fixed cockpit with 3 36" lcd screens.
