Subaru WRX STi Spoiler

In Gran Turismo 3, why does the WRX STi have the normal spoiler why not the large STi one?

After a bit of looking up on Fast-Autos.net; the 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX STi has both of the following pictures.

Why is the Picture A spoiler in Gran Turismo 3? Why are there two different spoiler models?

Please explain. 👍
 
Maybe the top one is for the european market and the bottom is for japan, or vise versa. They probably tested the top one but not the other.
 
The top is just the standard MY2002 STi. The bottom is a MY2002 STi with the PPP or Prodrive Performance Package. It brings the rally inspired looks that Prodrive uses on the rally cars to the street cars. Most cars in the UK could be ordered to have the PPP put on or you could put them on at a later date.
 
the second picture might be 2003 WRX STi..
i'm kind of disappointed about that spoiler in GT3 too.. i was expecting bigger one..
well, whatever, there's always gt4.. with 2004 WRX STi. no more bug-eyed STi. whoopee!

Man that makes me upset. i almost said that it was a prodrive version but second guessed myself. I thought that the only prodrive one was in around 98. I guess your the scooby master. :bowdown:
 
i'm not really a fan of japanese cars, but i have to admit. the imprezas look pretty good, well the ones without the circle headlights. like the ones in the picture, but the new ones and the ones before the cirlce lights are cool.
 
The BUW (Big Ugly Wing) was an option on the bugeyed STi, I believe, in certain markets (such as Japan and Europe). The second picture, as noted, shows a Prodrive bodykit that supposedly mimics the WRC car's.
 
Well, in the bug-eyed edition only the Spec-C, the one with the small spoiler (from GT3) and the Prodrive style one (from GT Concept) 👍 They may be more....but my intelligence is only "pretty good" in Subaru terms, so....
 
The Spec C is kind of like the Evo RS. Doesnt have the ammenities that the regular STi has. It does feature a twin scroll setup which is a good swap to do. And no, the Spec C was just not featured to white. There were red Spec C's in the My2003 and up STis in Europe/Japan.

I hate the bug eyed look.
 
when the sti was first released in japan, that was the spoiler they offered. the 1st pic was from the 2nd year it was in japan. there was a revison with the grille add-on and the newer (current sti) spoiler added later. second pic you had was a uk spec for 2002 limited model. forgot the name =P
 
that is just a plain WRX with the STi foglight covers on top and the bottom one is a WRX STi... the scoobie dealer up the street from me has a butload of both....

WTF?? Can't you see the 4 (four) STi badges on it?? I doubt someone would fake it that hard :scared:
 
Here is why. The STi in GT3 is not the same version we have In the US. The are actualy about 5 stock styles over seas. In the US the wrx just has the standard low one like the STi in GT3 and the newer STi's all have the larger "rally style" wing.
 
well if it was in the US it would either be a WRX that somone riced out or an STi with almost all the base WRX parts installed on it. i know you CAN get every STi badge and cover for the BASE WRX here in the US... goto subaru's website and build one... you can even get STi Pedal Covers....
