Sufficient disc space

I just got the GT6. I have the very old ps3 "fat line" with only 40GB harddisc. It says there are 17GB free space left. Do I have to uninstall GT5 completely, or is 17GB sufficient for GT6???

(In fact the harddisc is only 37 GB, GT5 occupies 15GB, so there should really be 22GB free on drive, but it tells me there is only 17GB free. I have nothing else but GT5 on my ps3)

Hope somebody can and will answer my question. Thanks in progress
 
If you don't have enough space it will tell you and it won't download at all. Just go download it and see what happens.
 
I have the disc based version and with all the content already installed, it took up 15-16gb. Now I think PS3s have a built in safe where you need to have a little more than extra in terms of space (10 gb download, you need 11-12 gb free) but I think you should be fine.
 
OK thank You very much for the quick answers...It tells me, fine...Will try it tomorrow. Right now I will do 620pp Eifel - again -agian... Funny, and sooo many cars to be used for the perhaps last time :cool: Thanks again :mischievous: Ohh I forgot to tell; I also got the disc based GT6
 
I've 100 percent complete my disk version and it's sitting at 2.727mb installed.

I've let it run through the demo at 10 seconds each for about an hour like someone recommended.

Do I have issues? With the game I mean!

My disc version installed just shy of 4GB last time I checked and I have not finished the career yet.

Mine was at nearly 6GB last time i checked and that was after only 3 days!

He's probably looking at what GT6 shows when you use the built in checker. It's extremely inaccurate.
Mine still shows 4gb while the XMB shows 11gb.

Yeah I was using the in game one. I'll check the XMB data thanks for the suggestion.
 
My BD-reader keeps moving when racing in some tracks, like Monza.
It's loading the track as long as I go?

Maybe some tracks are not completely installed until you use them in the career mode?
