for those enthusiasts on here into the GT way of life, the driver with the best set-up skillz will have the best chance at the best time. i've run across good and what I found enjoyable reading that I really sugest people find. (although not recent publications...theyre very good reading nonetheless)

The Unfair Advantage: by mark donohue.
published in the early 70's origionally he was the absolute pinnacle of the engineer-driver combination. He set up all of his cars with engineering approaches and data. all before the other drivers even thought of using that approach. he made the porsche 917 can-am car a reality. and this book really details his approach and his humble methods to get teh end result that allowed him to dominate every series he entered with any equipment he had. he made penske and penske made him.

all rules and guidelines in the GT series of games on explaining handling setups comes form this book. donohue originated the idea of the "friction circle" and its application to smooth fast driving.

if you can get your hands on a copy of "the speed merchants" either the book or the video, it is also quite highly enjoyable.

and for a total blast , chekc out "rendezvous" the movie. its onle 12 minutes long but the film director attached his camera onto the hood of his late 60's ferrari and blitzed across paris on an early sunday morning....going completely across town in that time all in real speed and no camera tricks. (he blew many stoplights)

anyway, take care. cant wait for hte game.
