I would really love it if for example, I could place a deposit on a car in the UCD for a particular car that I wish to buy and pay it off gradually as I wished, or through hire purchase.

The reason being is that some of the cars are very expensive and the maximum account balance you can have is £20m, I have seen a couple of vehicle pass through the garage that I would have bought if I had the money at that time, If I hadn’t already splashed out on another, or it took too long to get to the full amount for the ticket price that the vehicle dropped out of the garage.

All it would take is a hold button in the UCD that you could apply to the vehicle you wanted so that it didn’t drop out.

Anybody else though of this or think it’s a good idea?

What if you don't pay it? Does that car get repossessed? Do mob henchman come and break your legs?

No, it's just a way of dealing with a poor design choice. What would be better is to simply let you purchase any Standard car whenever you want rather than waiting for a desired car to randomly appear in the UCD for a while. Have Standard cars work just like Premiums instead of making some goofy, gimmicky game mechanic around them.

I understand your frustration with the UCD. However, I think the approach you suggest effectively voids the UCD.
If you can Hire Purchase whatever you like, then there's no incentive to save your coin without turning GT into a bank.

If you find you've left yourself short, try backing up your save before a major purchase. That way if 'that car' you've always wanted pops up before you can afford it, you reload you save and at most loose a couple of days in-game.

It's what I've been doing for my $20m purchases.

Then that would undermine the whole concept of the UCD. You'll never know what will come up next, because life is like a box of chocolates, and so is the UCD, its like a box of chocolates. ;)

Yes. Attack the problem not the symptoms.

Though if PD remains stubborn, the suggestion in the first post is a good idea for getting around the pointless credit limit.

Duping works better though.

In career mode I'd rather have full damage enabled all the time. If you damage your car you have to pay to repair it. Would make the game far more of a 'simulation' if you ask me, and add consequences for crashing.
