Double Ace Champion Series
Do you have what it takes to become the fastest duo? This series will test your faith in your teammate as well as knowledge of the car and track selected.
Ideal Goals
- Have fun and stay competitive throughout the series.
- Become a better driver overall and meet some new faces on GTPlanet.net.
- Gain new knowledge on tuning and team strategies that will win or lose the race.
- Driving clean is a must, no taking shortcuts or trying to turn this into a destruction derby. If you are caught taking shortcuts or deliberately trying to smash into other drivers. You will be asked to retire
Qualifying Sessions
We will be adapting the Formula 1 qualifying rules and regulations with minor changes for this event. Below is just an example and will be adjusted to how many teams actually sign up.
Heat 1 will consist of all drivers will be on course for 10 minutes, within that timeframe if you don’t qualify within a certain percentage you will be stopped from progressing further in the qualifying session.
(For example, if we have a total of 8 teams which consists of 16 drivers. Then if your position on the leader board is not within the top 11 positions, your qualifying session will come to a stop and placed in position of your time on the leader boards)
Heat 2 will consist of the remaining drivers will come back on course for 10 minutes, within that timeframe if you don’t reach within the top 7 positions. Your qualifying session will come to a stop and placed in position of your time on the leader boards.
Heat 3 will consist of the remaining top drivers will have 7 minutes to qualify for pole position. After the time is up, depending on your position on the leader boards is what position you will take on race day.
Race Session
We have not decided whether or not to go with enduro events or lap based events. When the event has some interested parties, we will make the final decision. As for the event, this is really based on trust. But it will be required for each driver to mute everyone in the room except for your teammate of course and the race steward for each event.
If Enduro…
The driver with the faster time within their respected teams will be the first driver up for the event. The overall event will be schedule for 2 hours. Each driver is responsible for making 3 pit stops before the driver shift will be made. Failure to do so will result an a DNF for your team. Don’t let your teammate down! After the hour is up, you will be required to stay in the pits paused for 5 minutes. After your 5 minutes is up, it is up to you to communicate with your teammate over the microphone to let your teammate know it’s their turn to race. The 2nd drivers for the event will line up along the pit lane wall and wait for their turn to get into the race. We will have at least one race steward overlooking the event to make sure to solve any issues that may occur while the event is taking place.
