Suggestion for GT4

I have a suggestion for the creators of GT4

what would everyone think of an option in GT4 of demanding excellent and precise driving by disqualifying you if you ran off of the track when in races or qualifying for the races. This would add another level of challenge and realism to the game in my opinion and make passing the AI cars a real art.

whats your thoughts?::D

Err, see the Rumour and Speculation section for stuff on GT4...;)

If they are to implement that I think they would need to use a warning system similar to TOCA2 or Sports Car GT on the PC.

I don't think it should be straight disqualification in any case.

The chicane on Apricot Hill and the Corkscrew are a nightmare when near AI cars. Would they get disqualified if they bump you off the track.

I guess the AI would need some work first.

Maybe this could be an option that is unlocked when you get 100%.

I have thought about this a little bit more.

My conclusion is that the solution is car damage. And yes I know there are 50 other thread saying this but I am going to havemy say here.

What do we do that would be called cheating or for various reasons would not work in real life ?

1. Wallride
2. Cut the chicane at Apricot Hill
3. Cut the final corner at Deep Forest (can't remember which direction)
4. Barge through traffic
5. Hit walls at Cote and the night tracks

Where we go off the track the solution is tire wear. The tire wear is drastically accelerated compared to real life so an off road experience could take 1 lap off the life of the tires. In some cases it may result in a puncture. Also on F1 cars and some other racers the suspension would not like this.

Any bumps we do would normally cause quite a bit of damage.

I have heard that some manufacturers don't want car damage in the game because it would require the purchase of spare parts at a cost. I reckon all they need to do is require pit stops to repair if damage gets bad enough.

We have the tire wear indicator. We could have a similar colour coded damage indicator and if it gets bad enough you have to pit or it slows you down.

It may be that this only apply to those races where tire wear applies and should also apply to AI cars.

Anyway I do agree that it should be optional.
