Searched a couple pages but didn't see anything on this.

I've run into several duplicate threads while going through the suggestion forum, some closed, some not. Is there an effective way of letting a moderator know when there are two or three or more threads that could be merged or closed? If I could collect all the URLs together somewhere and post or send them on would that help with clean up?

Click on Report in the upper right hand corner, next to the post number. Describe what you are reporting and send it. All Staff will read your report and will act appropriate. EDIT: not all Staff will act but just one ofcourse. :D

When you want to report a duplicate thread, click on report in the OP (= opening post). If you want to report a flame war, insults or infractions against the AUP, click on report of the #post in question.

Case closed, thread closed. :P

Report the first post of the thread, if it bothers you that much.
Edit: treed

Ah, I had figured that would be more for AUP violations as it is on other sites. Never thought to explore that option. Thanks!

The intention of the Report button is to get the Staff's attention on a matter that we might not come across (our AUP violation detection budget's a million dollars. That allows us to track about 3% of the site :P), or needs attention sooner than we would see it on our own. Short of reporting EVERYTHING or whenever someone simply doesn't agree with you, the worst that will happen is the Staff will review the Report and reject it. More times than not, obviously, the Report is justified and the offensive material is merged/edited/removed as needed.
