Hi all,

well, as you all may know, GT5's around the corner and its also in 3D and i have an 2-3 year old HD TV (28'')

Its done a great job and i use it everday mainly for my ps3 and my laptop (both connected via HDMI)

Well, i just now ordered the Signature edition of GT5 and i also want to get myself a new TV, a 3D TV.

I found this one at amazon http://www.amazon.de/Samsung-LE40C750-LCD-Fernseher-Technologie-perlschwarz/dp/B00407Z7DE/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I31ZKEA38GRA95&colid=7TWC6RTF4EQ4

I'm no expert in multimedia so, would be great if you expert's out there could point me into the right 3D TV direction

Price limit should be around 1000 Euro.

Thanks

Chris

In my opinion...

The best 3D TV on the market is the Panasonic 3D model. Even then, it has faults, crosstalk issues and the 3D glasses are probably the worst on the market.

The 2nd best would be the Sony 3D TV's, some really impressive features built into them, but show a little more crosstalk than the Panasonic.

Samsung and LG both have an awful amount of crosstalk and lower picture quality when compared with Sony/Pana.

At this stage of the game, with the price point your looking at, I would recommend holding off on the 3D sets. I certainly think 3D is where its all heading and won't just be a passing fad. But if 1000dollars is your limit, this first generation 3D models are not for you. You'll buy yourself a sub-par set that might be great for a few months, but you'll begin to see its shortcomings and may not truly be satisfied with your purchase.

Currently you'll probably have to double your cash limit for the TV, or hold off for next years models which will undoubtedly be better and cheaper. Which is what I'm waiting for.
Sure your not going to have 3D for the launch of GT5, but you'll pick up a much better quality set and still be playing GT5, along with a lot more 3D content when the 2nd generation 3D sets come through.

Thats the best advice anyone could give you.

thanks lion face!

I also thought about it, since 3D is still in an early stage and i guess i just have to sit back and wait.

My girlfriends dad though has a 50'' full hd 3d tv and OMG its just amazing!

thanks for the advice 👍

This one on one side

On the other side

i assume you're german as you have the german amazon link, so
http://www.chip.de/artikel/Samsung-LE40C750-40-Zoll-3D-LCD-TV-Test_43895936.html

Looking that your tv now has 28", and you may want to upgrade to something bigger.
The c750 is not very expensive, has very good 2d hd quality and the 3d is not perfect but it gets better after 30min with the 3d on.
But on the 3d, no 3d tv now in this gen. is perfect. Even the 2000€ models.
If you really want a 3d tv. This is a good entry but you need to keep in mind that it is not perfect, but at least you didn't shovel out 3000€, and the next gen will probably come out in a few months (ifa products). Third gen willl come out later end next year (CES products).

Honestly i also thought about buying one.

Samsung do have alot of crosstalk, but if you get the settings right, particularly the black levels and contrast, you can just about eliminate the cross-talk completely.

I believe this is because the LCD can't refresh between very deep black and bright colours fast enough. If you bring the black level up it doesn't have to change as much between frames.

But yes, the Panasonics have a much better black response time so you get no cross-talk without having to sacrifice the picture quality
