I was in the process of saving up for a Mazda 787B but am only level 19 so I decided to check out some of the GT300/GT500 cars...WOW, what a lot of fun! These two classes might be my new favorite. Good speed, traction, sounds, etc..

Are there any real differences between them or is the point of the GT300/GT500 classes to have very similar cars to tighten up the racing?

I noticed there are a few different cars available, does anybody have recommendations on which to choose?

Thanks!

I bought a Yellow Hat YMS Supra, its very nice.
Thought it had a chance in the All Star Championship, but no.
It was my first Race-Car buy and I didn´t waste the money because I could use it for the SuperGT-Championship.

Furthermore: I do not think that there is a difference between a Lexus SC430, Skyline, Supra, NSX of the same year (08/09 ??) but maybe the 350z is a bit better, because it has more torque. And the GT300 cars have no chance against the GT500´s (like in gt4)

I bought the Raybrig NSX and it's good fun to drive around Suzuka because of the amount of corner speed it can carry.

The first corner, Degner 1, and the 130R are fun in this car.

Minolta!

I did it first time around in the Castrol Supra, it was definitely easier in the Minolta!

I bought the Arta NSX, handles very well indeed. The best bit is that you can tune it to nearly 600bhp and it still handles like a dream. Be careful of those low speed corners though ;)

I did two of the races in my Arta Garaiya. But it didnt have the speed for fuji, so i used the furai for that one.

But to answer the original question, no the Super GT cars are all generally the same, so there is no benefit to one over the other.

Except you have gt300 and gt500 categories. I love to drive the Garaiya or the WedsSport in gt300.

For gt500 the Xanavi Nismo (350z based) has the edge cause of it's enormous torque (727nm) compared to the others (500nm range).

In all honesty, any of the premium GT300 or GT500 cars are equally awesome. I love just lapping in GT500 cars.

The Tom's Castrol Supra.Works like a charm. 👍

I know it's just standard, but it handles well.I won it in B-Spec Super GT Races.I'm not sure how much she costs though.

There are differences between the classes. I bought the yellow RX7 very early in the game (don't even want to try to spell it right now) and it could barely keep up with the competition fully tuned. I won the Suzuka race but couldn't keep up with the Fuji. I then bought the Xanavi GTR and it was more than enough. I really didn't mind because I'll probably try to buy most of them anyway because I really enjoy driving these cars. They are a blast.

Do you talk about the 97 castrol supra, is there another one? The one i won is a premium.

I'm pretty sure mine was standard.I can't check at the moment,my B-Spec Driver is only at lap 4 of 10 at the moment.

You should be able to do this race with any GT class car. Some may need to be upgraded depending on your skill. Of course any LMP car will be overkill and win the race with ease provided you can drive it well enough to keep in on the track.

Thanks for all the comments! I really like the look of all of them, and having a car that is more powerful than everything else is not a big deal to me, I just like to have fun.

To those making recommendations for the "Like The Wind" race, why are you doing that here? I didn't even mention "Like The Wind". lol :D
