Okay guys, qualifying is about to start. I hope everyone got plenty of practice at Laguna Seca. Good luck to everyone. 👍

Just a reminder:
* Suspension, aerodynamic and gear settings may be changed. The car’s horsepower must remain stock as purchased or won, except for oil changes.
* Ballast weight has been added to several cars in an effort to achieve parity between the makes. Cars must race with the ballast weight listed in the rules. Drivers who choose the Toyota Supra must add 200 kg of ballast. Drivers who choose the Nissan Fairlady Z must also add 200 kg of ballast.
* Stability management (ASM) must be set at 0. Traction control (TCS) is at the driver’s discretion.

* Standard on-line racing rules apply. Drivers must keep at least two wheels on the track/kerbs at all times (no wall-riding, grass/track cutting, etc.).

* Qualifying will take place from midnight US Eastern Time Monday, 5 Dec. to midnight US ET Thursday, 9 Dec. In Gran Turismo mode, drivers should go into Original Circuits/Laguna Seca/Practice. Drivers will post their best single lap time, including sector times, in the forum thread. Drivers may post as many qualifying laps as they wish. Soft compound tires and different suspension set-ups may be used for qualifying.
* After qualifying, time will be added to each driver's race time depending on their qualifying position. Each row will have 1.0 second added to the race time. (Row 2: +1.0 sec. / Row 3: +2.0 sec. / Row 4: +3.0 sec.)

I first have to do the ESES races at Sears Point. After that I will go for a qualifying run in the 350Z :)

Here's my best effort after a few laps last night:

T1: 19.358
T2: 37.804
T3: 57.305
Lap: 1'16.632

C'mon guys, let's see what you've got!

I still didn't had time to test the Motul car (ehm, correction, the Calsonic car ;)). I need to do the ESES race with teh Toyota 7 and after I've done that I'll start with this qualification :)

Okay, but there's a little more than 28 hours before qualifying is over. I hope we get some qualifying times.

Glad to know one person is still in this. :)

ok here's my time. A whoping 2secs off the pace. Ut oh. Is my first time using R5 qualifiers, think I must be too heavy on the brakes cos i'm used to R1 and R2's. Sorry no split times but i've got a photo, but its too big to upload (313Kb).

Time is 1'18.700

Well, I gave it a try as well:

12. Sjenk Calsonic Impul Nissan Fairlady Z
T1: 19.150
T2: 37.486
T3: 56.796
SF: 1'16.578 (yeah, I almost spinned in the first corner after getting the T3 time)

I really hate that corner after the corkscrew, I had better laps than this and that corner ruined all laps :/

I am terribly sorry but I have to withdraw from this race,I'm not home this weekend and where I'm going,I (maybe)won't have my ps2 so bye.

In my eyes the gap between me and Mulsanne was too small (0.054), so I tried it again before I'm going to sleep (1 am now) and I managed to get faster. There is space for improvement, but I don't have time to do that before the qualification deadline.

12. Sjenk Calsonic Impul Nissan Fairlady Z
T1: 19.212
T2: 37.447
T3: 56.645
SF: 1'16.264

Thanks, guys! 👍 I was beginning to worry. :nervous: So, I'll just extend the deadline to midnight Friday. Hopefully, we'll get a few more times.

Biochemist, have you checked out gtvault.com? They have a great selection of setups, including some for the Toyota.

Electric........ I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you will be with us for the next race.

:yuck:  Egads - Back in the pack by 2 seconds

t1 19.929
t2 38.537
t3 58.334

1'18.362

Where are you getting all the speed from? I'm hammered and bairly holding on to the track :scared:

Ok I changed a few settings myself and managed a 1'17.683 so only 1 second off the pace. Cheers for the link Mulsanne i'll check it out, I used gtvault when I was playing GT3 and desperately trying to make the sole BMW competitive. Maybe next race I'll be more 'on it'. Again I have a picture but forgot sector times.

Or you do it like I do and you don't change anything at all :p (ok, except for the weight, the tires and ASM :))

Well, that's your problem...you need to lay off the  j/k :)

Like Sjenk, all I did was add the weight, max the downforce, lower the ride height so that it doesn't scrape the track and add some RSS tires. (And do a little playing around with brake bias and springs, etc.)

But I did complete over 1200 miles of testing while setting up the race, so it may just be circuit knowledge.

Thanks to everyone who sent in a Q time. 👍

The things in red are the things I did as well, the rest is all stock (also called SuperStock by me ;)) I never change ride heights and stuff like that (just like in the ESES, that's why I'm so proud to be very close behind you with the Toyota 7 :p)
