Teams

Team members will be drawn from the registered players. To keep the teams balanced, we will try to pair the fastest drivers with slower drivers. Therefore, non-Team Morphine players who wish to join this event must attend at least 1 practice session. (Check calendar below).

Once the teams are put together, the cars will then be drawn from the eligible cars for this event. Each team will have a GT300 car and a GT500 car. At this point, the team colours must be chosen so that all teams have different colours.

The teams will then have 1 week to fine tune their cars and decide which driver takes which car. We strongly advise you to add your teammate as a PSN friend and practice together. Once the championship starts, drivers CANNOT change class.

Scoring system

Based on the official Super GT scoring system.

1st - 20 points

2nd - 15 points

3rd - 11 points

4th - 8 points

5th - 6 points

6th - 5 points

7th - 4 points

8th - 3 points

9th - 2 points

10th - 1 point

DNF (Did Not Finish) = 0 points

DNS (Did Not Start) = 0 points

DQ (Disqualified) = 0 points

Only cars which have covered at least 75% of the total race distance will be classified.

Additional points:

  • Pole position: 1 point
  • Fastest lap: 1 point

This scoring system applies to both GT300 and GT500 classes.

Teams’ scores are calculated by adding both drivers’ points, and dropping the teams’ 2 worst scores. This way, if a driver can’t attend both event days, his teammate’s chances to win the Team Championship won’t be spoiled.

GT500 and GT300 driver championship won’t have a drop-score system.

If two or more drivers and/or teams finish the season with the same number of points, the higher place in the Championship shall be awarded to:

  • the holder of the greatest number of first places,
  • if the number of first places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of second places,
  • if the number of second places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of third places, and so on until a winner emerges.

Penalties and other considerations

Replays will be carefully viewed after the championship so the official standings will only be final when announced as such.

Shortcuts

  • A shortcut is considered to be taken whenever a car has less than 2 wheels on the track and gains a time advantage or a position with it;
  • To avoid a penalty if a shortcut is taken involuntarily, the implicated driver should slow his pace enough to eliminate the gained advantage;
  • Whenever a driver slows down to avoid a penalty or returns to track after an incident, he should take care to do it safely and not hinder any other drivers, or risk being disqualified;
  • The penalty for shortcut taking will be 30 seconds per shortcut, with the consequent adjustment of the final standings.
Non gentleman-like conduct

  • Whoever engages persistently in less than fair, sporting and gentleman-like conduct will be asked to abandon the event.

Pit stops

  • Drivers who don’t perform the required pit stop(s) for the event will receive the correspondent in-game penalty. This penalty can be reinforced by the event judges if needed.
  • Drivers who use more than the designated tyre sets (see Event conditions - Tyre choice) will face a 5 point deduction to their championship score.
  • Drivers who transpose the solid line at pit exit will face a 10 second penalty, with the consequent adjustment of the final standings.
  • Drivers who transpose the solid line at pit exit and deliberately force quicker cars coming from behind to slow down, face a 30 second penalty, with the consequent adjustment of the final standings.
  • If an accident occurs in consequence of the above, the driver will be disqualified.

Other considerations

  • In case of a large scale crash at the start the race, it will be restarted with the same grid order.
  • If a player disconnects in the middle of a race, this will be considered as a mechanical failure, and classified as DNF. He may resume the championship in the next race.
  • In case of a server disconnect, the race will be restarted with the same grid order.
  • In multi-class racing, opponent awareness is extremely important. As lapped cars won’t be “transparent” we ask that slower class drivers don’t block nor make sudden moves to get out of the way of faster cars. Just stay in your line, as predictable as possible and the faster drivers will work their way around you. We also ask faster class drivers to be patient, avoid having a 3 cars side-by-side situation and avoid accidents at all costs.
  • Blocking or crashing into other cars on purpose will get you disqualified.
  • If you wish to report an incident, a shortcut that you witnessed or just have a complaint or comment, please direct it to teammorphine@hotmail.co.uk, specifying the event name, race number or circuit name, lap, sector, concerned players and a brief description of what happened. It will then be taken into consideration by the event judges.
  • Most importantly: have fun!
