Ok, I'm probably wrong here, but I beleive the engine of a Honda NSX is mounted in the middle of the car, and I happen to know that the restrictions of the GT 500 class of the Super GT require all engines to be front-mounted. I know they could have put the engine into the front of the NSX for this reason (altough I doubt it). The point being that GT still counts all the GT 500 NSX's as MR. Some clarification would be nice.

If memory serves, the NSX took a weight penalty for its MR configuration, but it's moot now that it has been replaced with the HSV.

The front engine rule came in in about 2009, which is when the NSX was no longer racing, not sure if it was due to the rule that they stopped or not :P but Honda race the HSV now which is FR. There's a 50 kg weight penalty on the NSXs ingame, apart from the '06 models for some reason

Hope I helped!

This is from the 2008 Super GT regulation:

Engine
◊Type and position of engine:
An engine that is produced by the original manufacture and is legal for road use and approved by FIA and/or JAF can be mounted. The mounting orientation, direction and location of the engine are without restriction provided the engine is situated within the engine compartment of the original vehicle.

Can you explain the bolding of random characters and symbols? Seems weird and hurts readability.

It was edited by a mod, as the lack of capitalization and punctuation goes against the AUP guidelines.
