Welcome to the pre season event for the 8th season of the SuperGT championship. As in the previous season, there will be no sprint race for pre season, just straight in to the full race. This is the last chance to check your car selection for the up coming season; after this event final selections/ changes will need to be made. For this round feel free to discuss anything you like - fastest laps, tyre wear, pit stratagies etc.

Lets go racing, everyone 👍

General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me RACECAR or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Event Specific Information

The two yellow hatched off areas shown bellow are NOT part of the track. Having all 4 wheels in these areas constitutes a breach of the OLR rules. Its worth bearing in mind however that the AI will use these areas!

Got my run in. No major screwups and just a few very minor offs. 3-5 secs total. In first by turn F8 of 1st lap. Remember from last year this class had a easy time with the AI. Even on +10. Not so the GT300's. Will probably be my submission for the week. While I was running this track at my breakneck speed, :sly: it got me thinking about how when I first started playing GT2 I had such a problem with all these corners. Now I don't even think about them really.

FYI:
For anyone who hasn't decided on a GT500 auto yet here are my testing from this year's crop. All were within a 1/2 sec of each other from top to bottom. Then I ran each car through a tyre wear stint on RM's at same top speed with Bob @ 4. My BSpec amounts are 9045/100/90/88. Number of laps before computer took a pit. I set it for overtake and didn't touch it until the pit. Then reset it.

Pitwork - 10
Takata - 10, sloppy last lap
Xanavi - 11
Mobil - 9
Loctite - 9
Zexel - 10

Then ran each in ASpec and all were about 2 less laps before a pit.

Just did a GT500 time last night. I'll try it again sometime this week, but i don't know if i can beat it or not. The GT-R is quite a beast around corners; You honestly use throttle control more than braking to get the car to do what you want it to. My fastest laps were in the low 1:20.XXX range on RM's, but it was pretty hard work to get it there.

I haven't gotten a clean run in GT300 yet, but because the car hasn't changed from last year i'm pretty much set. It's more of a case of "WTF? Why the heck did that Falken Skyline punt me off into the weeds!?!" than "Cheeze, this car ust won't turn!".

Time submited. :D

Great race. I love that Nissan GT-R. I ended up running RS for all but one outing. I had two big crashes, one on lap 10 and one on 25. I guess it's to be expected when are going 10/10. Upward and onward.

Times submitted. I'm not really happy with either of them, but hey, that's what pre-season tests are for right? :sly:

I hope to be more in the thick of the front of the field at Suzuka...

Thanks to all who submitted their times:tup: The results will be up this week (though it'll take abit since I have no idea how to use the spreadsheet program) so please be patient.

Results have been posted in the first post.
