Not sure how many of you are there yet, but I started doing the Super events in career mode and found some very interesting things. For those who have not started doing these yet, these events have tire wear and fuel consumption.

So here is the problem, I started with the first event, 8 laps around willow springs, 650pp or less on sport softs or less, normal car. This was my first event with tire wear and fuel consumption, although I didn't know it was on until I started driving. Anyway, I didn't think this was possible but the tire wear is even more comical than in previous versions of GT. In a stock ford GT, I wore through a set of sport softs in 4 laps, 4 LAPS? Fuel was even worse, emptied the tank before the end of lap 7. This race is only a distance of 20 miles. Hmm... So what happens if they do add longer races at some point

Thoughts?
I'm surprised there are not several threads complaining about this, seems a bit much.

On a side note, when a tires get to their very end of life, you don't just lose lots of grip like in GT5, the car becomes pretty much undriveable, even going half normal speed.

Just an FYI, a Ford GT gets roughly 60-70 miles per tank under normal driving conditions. SO I would assume they tried to make it closer to real life but went a smidge too far. On the tires though, I agree completely they burn off WAY too fast.

They likely turned the wear rates up to match the attention span of the average driver. Don't know about you, but I'm not thrilled about doing an hour long offline race against the annoying AI. It makes total sense to turn up the wear rates to "High" and shorten the event. As for the Online events, there are many choices to adjust the wear rates to your preference.

Problem with this crazy high wear rates for even just street tires is, it forces you to go to light cars that have farly even tire wear, which means you want to stay away from most of the MR or AWD street cars. That really limits the car choices if its an event that requires a certain type of car etc.

I tried the Willow Springs 20 minute event in an FXX. After ONE lap the tyres were history!! And this is surposed to be The Real Driving Simulator??!!!

A stock LCC Rocket or Caterham can do the Willow and Ascari events without a pit. Just be careful when tailing close behind the others cars -- you won't need to brake as hard / often as they do. Things get a little less hectic once the other cars have to head in for fuel / tires. A custom transmission or SS-Tires can help if you're still struggling. Good luck!
