Well I've read the Master Car List and it says that there is for sure going to be a Maclaren F1 (lemans car I think) ..So since theres going to be super cars in the races it should be more challenging and with the ferrari cars still undecided.

I just can't wait for this game to come out..

who has their name on a pre-order list..cause I do since last January..lol

You're a true car nut I can tell especially by pointing out the MacLaren. ;)

Maybe it's just me, but aren't Super License races tough to begin with? Doing that quick lap time for Monte Carlo with the Toyota GT-One (Gran Turismo 3) cost me loads of time and sleepless nights. If it's anything I wanted with GT4, it would be easier rally tests like in GT2.

But wait a minute? Modifi3d, welcome to GTPlanet. This is John from Houston, TX, USA. If this were an NFL game, right now you'd be on 4th and 40 with 10 seconds to go in the 4th Quarter, down by 7. You're committing two "personal fouls." One of them is roughing on GTPlanet members. Now, I personally have an anger problem. So I often try to be careful when online unless I really have to make a special point. As I told another newcomer, the first rule of GTPlanet is "respect." There are going to be people you will eventually dislike, however, you can't say that everyone on these message boards, male or female, young or old, domestic or foreign, regardless of ethnicity and nationality, are bad people. If you're going to hate on everyone, Jordan or Giles_Guthrie or someone will immediately make their points known by banning you.

The second thing is, not to be mean, but what the hell does this topic have to do with Super License tests? You basically talk about supercars, like the McLaren F1. Of course, if you love this car, meet my buddies "McLaren F1 GTR" and "McLaren'sAngel" on GTPlanet. Anyhow, you can use a creative title, but you have to stick to the point. Imagine in my eight months on GTPlanet, for me to come up with a topic that eventually has nothing to do with the topic name. Sure, I made a topic in the GT4 forums called "Like the Wind," but the topic was on wind resistance and cars' reactions to the wind. Make sure that an introduction sticks to the point and doesn't go WAY OFF on a different tangent. What happens if you see a thread entitled with something to do with supercars, and the introduction is about whether or not Hong Kong will be in GT4? You're not helping your cause for this thread to last, since you come up with something way off on another tangent and has nothing to do with the topic's title.

So having said that, be careful on GTPlanet. In the meanwhile with the NFL example, it's 4th and very long. You think you can get that first down to stay on GTPlanet and not be banned or flamed on? Or even better, can you go for the Touchdown? Tread lightly.

Calm down modifi3d. No need to get all worked up over something like this. :)

Just brush your sholder off.

I see that you are new here to GTPlanet, so I'd like to point out the Acceptable Use Policy and the Terms of Service statements that you read when you signed up here.
If you need a refresher, links to each of them are found on the bottom of every page.

As for the rest of you here, there is really no need to be pointing out simple spelling mistakes to others. It serves no other purpose than to inflame. So, I will also remind the rest of you, especially aj and pimp racer, that if you don't have anything of worthwhile content to post, you may not want to be posting it. ;)

Please be respectfull to others.

First off welcome to GTP, secondly I'd like to point out that the McLaren is not the fastest GT racer to appear in Gran Turismo, the GT-One is with the R390 coming in second, the F1 GTR can't come close to thoes on a circuit, compare lap times at LeMans an theres a large difference. Also I haven't pre-ordered the game because it's not going to sell out here, I'll just nip out and buy it on my luch brer something.

lol

Guess you have never heard of leading by example?...

Yeah I wasn't gonna mention that personally...

Modified makes an flaming entrance to GTP.

TriplePlay

I think you mean...

And JohnBM01... I think he meant Races where you needed to have the Super Licence... Not the actual Super Licence tests themselves... other than that I didn't quite manage to decipher his point...

Either way though I've pre-ordered it for a while cos it was cheaper to pre-order than wait for it to come out.

Hell, "Like the Wind" could have been an IA-License race!

"IA" I think you're being a bit lenient... it could've been a non licence test... It was far from challenging...

Super liscence tests neednt be any harder. I remember spending 5 hours non stop on the final test and many hours before that. Im sure others have done it much quicker but you need to remember that GT is a GAME and if it too challenging many wont enjoy it and it will become frustrating. The S licence was plenty challenging enough for me and most likely alot of others. Im not looking forward to spending ages on licences again but will do it as the reward is always so sweet (actually being able to play the game).

Or if you mean the actual races reqiuring the licence then ignore what i have just posted... I think that the it was the reward that determined what licence was reqired to compete rather than it's actual difficulty. Look at like the wind It was mega easy to win with any car with decent top speed but the reward was the Mazda 787b a car which could dominate many a race. If this race was a B licence entry then the game would have been much too easy from the start with the beginner league being done in a car which was alot faster than the competition.

I think they should not nessarily be "harder"......but more varied instead, like have more interesting and fun licence tests.....I have to admit that I found the tests in GT3 abit boring and repetative......where as Prologue's tests where quite cool.......I especially liked the s2000 cone test (where you reverse!) and the prius fuel test......those are what the licences should be like! More interesting and challanging in different fields to allow you to gain better skills over a wide range of various driving, such as braking, cornering, overtaking etc etc.........not just your ability to go flat out round a track!

Well then can make the licenses more challenging by lowering the time one needs for gold but at the same time upping the time one needs for bronze. so both sides are happy.

One thing I noticed in GT4P is the test seem to have more of a point. They teach things and are mostly rather enjoyable. The GT3 test are kind of annoying and seem more like things you jsut gotta do, they don't teach much in anything other than an abstract way, until you get to the IA and S licenses.

^ Yeah I totally agree......licences felt like a chore in GT3.....its was something you reluctantly HAD to do.......and they really where inanimate and boring (most of them)......Prologue openly admits at trying to test all aspects of driving through its liences and it has suceeded really well......I looked foreward to seeing the next interesting test and seeing what it offered......with stuff like the slalom with the NSX where can you go wrong! Hopefully GT4 tests will take after Prologues ones becuse I recon they have been the best so far!

I even likeed the coffee breaks, though the 2nd one with the random cones drives me batty. I have golds in all other test and coffee breaks but that one, i barely manage a silver. I must have spent 10+ hours on that one trying for gold, I jsut can't do it!

Nothing in GT3 gave me that much trouble for gold.

Funny I just wrote a reply in the GT3 forum the other day with the same message, I don't like GT3 licence tests and love GT4P licence tests. The aim of the game for me is racing and having fun not getting annoyed by S8 or wet circle tests (you don't need in the game) in particular.

Kensei, you can find a little map in the GT4P forum, look in the topmost thread (GT4P Lesson guide) and following the line on the map a gold time is easily doable (read the tips in the thread regarding CB 2 as well) Good luck !

Thanks, I'll look for that....

I've heard of GT4: "Prologue" tests. You have one test, then you have a few coffee breaks. Pretty cool. Of course for me, I'm kind of more of a hot chocolate kind of guy, but coffee's still cool. As a Gran Turismo veteran, the license tests were more on driving techniques. So if you want to press the issue, would you say that completing license tests meant learning different driving techniques rather than learn how to race? With September soon approaching, we'll be closer and closer to GT4's release. In fact, Electronics Boutique (also known as "EB") has some PS2 boxes with conceptual artwork for GT4. Of course, it features a rather old picture featuring a yellow, late-model Corvette racing the streets of New York.

But as far as Super License tests go, I don't want them being any harder than that God-forsaken Toyota GT-One test at Monaco, or that Time Trial with the Ruf RGT on the Complex String. Who knows? The final Super License Test might be a race around Tsukuba in that beautiful Pescarolo LMP.
