I'm wrapping up the rally races tonight (have tried for the last three) and am having Issues on the last two tracks.

I'm in a Mine's lancer, facing off against an EVO VII rally. Why can't I keep up with this guy? I've beaten the first 2 lap race, but can't run with him on the three lap race.

$#%*ing PD and their "Slow car boost". I am 99.9% certain that the game will boost the AI if it gets behind. I've seen the AI make up 7 seconds in a 1/2 lap, on top of me make a 2 second quicker lap. (Side note)

What tips can you give me on running this race? Settings that tend to work for wet tracks? Tricks for the rain?

And why did PD only make 4 rally tracks?

Thanks,
AO

just buy a lancia delta really good in wet, i also beat the impreza prototype with the DELTA!!!

I used me Toyota treuno shingeo version and sliperry drifted my way through the course, untill the assclown kept ramming me and making me spin. So I attempted it again with my old faithfull iElise. I suppose the only tips I can give you are ones you already know. Brake in a straight line, try and brake slightly earlier than you usually would and try and accelerate progressivly out of corners, If you have a steering wheel this should help with the progressive acceleration, but you can use the right analog stick to accelerate and brake. Its odd at first but its helluva lot better than using the digital buttons. Oh the Mines Lancer has rear aero parts, increase them to maximum, also make the cars ride height higher (you may have already done this for this car if your using it for rally.

On the wet track you can use any car can't you? :gcar:

Just use a Super Car and you'll easily win.......:rotfl:

I used :nissan: R390 Race Car

1mic: I'm trying not to blow a bunch of cash on the Rally races, and I'm not looking to pick up another car for just 2 races. the Delta is an awesome car though. Never treated me wrong before.

Y2: You're right, i have been doing most of what you said. I've been using the dual sticks since I started the game ...9-10 months ago. I'm thinking the problem may be in my acceleration from the corners. Seem to spin alot, so I'll try the progressive administration of power to the wheels. Have to try to boost the rear down force, and Maybe bump the TCS from 2 up to 8 or 9.

AlexY2K: If all else fails, I'll jump in one of the other beasts that I have and blast away

Thanks,
AO

I used The Escudo and demoralized the poor AI, it may be cheap but I got the cars. It takes less than a couple hours to beat all the Rally Races.

I actually think you should go with a car that doesnt have so much power so you have nice control, something with about 400 and 450 BHP.

I suggest just using a really powerful car in your garage, or any Super Car as they put it. I used my prize car Evo VII for the entire rally league, even the SS5 Wet. I didn't have any problems with this course. My conly complaint was that I couldn't really drift at all there :(

I jumped in to my 787B and slaughtered the AI. Wrapped up the Rally section, and won the ESCUDO! (Note the sarcasm)

Thanks for all the input.

I used the focus rally car. when you get to that purple u-turn, dont slow, just slam into the rail and ride it. it's sorta cheap, but with the focus, which is slow, but good acces, it was the only way to win. I could have used my 1000+ skyline, but that would have been no fun.

The Mitsu FTO LM is the bomb for all the Rally races. You don't even have to mod it.

AO- If you want a semi-challenging race, but still a decent chance to win, go with the Subaru Impreza Rally Car (old or prototype, doesn't matter much). This way, you'll be on the same competitive level as the other cars, but yet there's something about the Impreza that makes it easy for good drivers to win this race...

Don't try to drive a regular racing line, avoid apexing and brake before the corner, slow in fast out.

indded, although i find it easier to use a evo 7 on the Ba$*%!d. I you still cant beat him, and dont want to shell out for anotha car, you could always run araound the outside of the hairpin to gain a second or too. But that would be cheating.................

I opted for the sleazy way. Ricochet method in the 787B.

I enjoy rally racing, and my wife now rides withher hand on the "Oh $h!t" handle in my VW. She never has liked riding in the snow with me though. Hey the E-brake is a viable steering option.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Use sports tires. I beat it using the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. Of course it also has 1084 HP... but I didn't hit any corners.
