This series will be like a progressive league, where after each season newer cars will be available. For example, the '06 season would only allow cars from that season (and cars from previous years as well, given they weren't out of competition for that season). This would be realistic as it doesn't allow '08 cars to face off against '06 cars if the season is '06. The next season, newer cars are allowed.
We would follow rules similar to that of SuperGT, where there would be mixed classes and double-file rolling starts. The GT300 cars would start in the rear and the GT500 cars in the front.
The starting grid will be determined by a time trial through the course of 2 laps. Only one car may be allowed on the track at a time. That driver's time will be recorded and kept for the starting lineup. The fastest car will obviously start at the front.
Once the race starts, the top qualifiers will, in order, form on the first lap of the race. Once the cars reach the start-finish line, the racing will begin. All aids will be turned off and tires will be restricted to Racing Hard.
No corner cutting, blocking with a slower or lapped car, wrecking other drivers, or driving backwards. And for the sake of sportsmanship, please, no harsh language or harassing others.
The most important rule, however, is to drive a car that is not anachronistic. Don't drive an '08 GT-R during the '06 season. And also don't drive an old early-90's Skyline during the '08 season.
So, is anybody interested in a "Timeline" series?
