General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

  • Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final


Race

  • Arcade Mode>>>Single Race>>>World Circuits>>>Tsukuba
  • 49 lap race (100km)
  • Weight penalties in place
  • RS, RM, RH tires or any combination thereof
  • Strong Tire Wear
  • AI at +10
  • Ai tires RS
  • Forced Pit Entry penalty system
  • ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
  • Gearing (top speed slider) is own choice
  • Points for race: 15-12-10-7-5-3-2-1
  • 2 Points for fastest lap
  • 2 points for finishing within 103% of race winning time
  • 1 point for finishing outside 103% of race winning time

If i can Do about 90% of the race on hards, then swap to softs, i might have a very good chance of doing well
 
Congrats to Austin343 for lap records in both classes.

Caked it on the first tries, so tried again. took 40 seconds off my GT300 time :crazy:
 
One shot and out on both races. Interested to see how the secret strategy will work out. :sly:
 
I think that both of my races went well. I found some consistency, had decent pit strategies, and wasn't obstructed too badly by the rolling roadblocks (although I did lose nearly ten seconds in GT500 behind the Ford GT LM because hard tires don't allow for clean AI passes at this tight track :ouch:). Furthermore, unless there was AI contact that was too light to make a sound or to change the speed or direction of my car, both of my races were 100% OLR clean: no more than two tires on the grass and no wall or AI contact. đź‘Ť
 
I'm still working on this. Trying to get every last tenth out of my Subaru!

I pray every night that people get real busy and forget to submit their times. :sly: Win by attrition, baby! No it's pretty simple. I two stopped the races. Probably won't help much because the pits are shorter here than at other tracks. That's my finding. Comments from others? Missing HK to beat #34 really hurt me in the standings. A point here and there can make the difference between 21st and 22nd at the end. :dopey: I am trying to sneak in a rogue car from the Tuning Challenge. See the discussion thread post #168 and after. But Abud will probably nix that idea. He's a stickler for rules and mad that I have way more credits than him. :lol:

You know, that's pretty close to what me and my Dad did last year in this series: We'd run RH's all around and just go! Sometimes it was two stops, sometimes just one...

As for right now, i try to run the races once or twice to get a feel for how my cars are going to work ith the tires and how many laps a set'll do before they give up on me (And how bad it feels to try and drive the car back to pitlane on Red Tires!)

Also, i'm submitting my times fairly soon...Just wanted to reply to this before i sent them in.

Be careful what you wish for. :crazy: In my previous post I joked about people missing the deadline. Should have submitted my times before I posted. Wife called me to do something and my 12 year old got on the computer. Came back 1/2 hour later and the computer wouldn't load so I couldn't submit my winning times in both classes. :ouch: Then had to go to work. Figured my boss wouldn't accept me missing work because I had to stay at home to submit my times in the online(sort of) racing league that I rarely earn points but just have fun in. :dopey: Just got my connection back permanantly(I hope). :)

Funny thing is that I did both races last Tues/Weds in case things got busy with life. Which it did. Won't wait next time. :guilty:

i got plenty of time to do these races. about 8 weeks because school is out for summer holidays down in aus.


cant wait to see the results. its sure to be close

Yeah I think I can make it for the next round. I see that all the front runners are with the ARTA Garaiya. No worry we'll be there again next week and let's see what we can do ;)
 
Consistency isn't enough to win races, I suppose. :) Congratulations to Sagaris and kingofweasels for their wins. đź‘Ť Since there are so many slow corners here, acceleration is vital, and I lost quite a bit of that with the extra weight. Clearly, missing races is costly - I haven't performed anywhere near on par with east, and yet we're tied now.

I only spell it that way because "Kingofweasels" was already taken somewhere...I don't remember which site it was, but it was the first one i created an account for. The name stuvk with me ever since.

WOOOOO! A podium in GT500 and a WIN in GT300?? WTF is up with that man???:crazy::sly: NEVER would've expeccted that...

All kiddin' aside, i've always done well at this track for some reason; While it's the shortest course on the schedule it has a flow in its rythm of corners that places Hong Kong just don't have.
 
My secret strategy sucked. But I had fun. And thank you Abud for listing me.
 
and my semi secret strategy didnt even happen. i decided to go a different path.

mind you, i was less than a minute behind 1st place

I enjoyed the race track as well, but with me behind the wheel, my Subaru can only watch as you drive off into the distance!
