General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

• Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
• No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
• Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
• No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
• All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

• AI at +10

• ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
• Gearing (top speed slider) is own choice
• Points for race: 15-12-10-7-5-3-2-1
• 2 Points for fastest lap
• 2 points for finishing within 103% of race winning time
• 1 point for finishing outside 103% of race winning time

Only reason I voted indifferent on the poll was that I didn't have a lot of time on this track. That is changing as I get more comfortable. Had to find the correct braking points. The scenery is nothing that jumps out at you. For us slow guys it's more important than for the Warp Factor 9 crew.

If I had been good in GT500 I might have really liked Motegi East, but the Dome is a pain when it comes to braking for 90 degree and Hairpin.

The ASL however Is Quite Fun and Easy to drive.

Figuring I'd have one shot at each this week. I was happy that after a mediocre start my best lap times in the 500 class came after lap 21. And there were a number of them. Didn't think that running it at 1:30am would result in a good effort. Only a few very minor offs. One of them overshooting the first turn on lap 29.

After changing to the "race" parameters, I notice I am having some difficulty beating times I did from the sprint event, even with softer tires. Is this typical? It seems like with tire wear, the tires just keep getting better till they drop off suddenly and the constant change in grip is costing me?

As you get through the race fuel weight drops and you should be capable of doing faster laps (about 0.5 sec a lap), however because the tyres go off and the AI get in the way you have less opertunities to get the fast laps in.

One thing i've found is that while you're weight goes down from fuel usage, you're tire life drops by about a lap or so.

So if you start the race on RH/RH's and get to like 12 laps, come in for your first stop and just change tires, you'll probably only get 11 laps on you're next stint.

Can't say i've noticed a loss of tyre durability, it could be that as the weight goes down you thrash the car a bit more and slide it burning the tyres?

I get a decrease in tire life over long races, too, but the effect does vary depending on the driver. Smooth and consistent drivers enjoy an increase in the number of laps that they can drive between pit stops, presumably because they make the same inputs but with less fuel weight to wear out the tires. But those who push hard find that they can significantly increase cornering speeds with less fuel, an effect that evidently outweighs the tire wear improvement from the reduced weight.

That has been my experience. Tire wear was the same before and after the pits here at Motegi East.

But I only had time for one crack at it, so it was quite cautious driving and only used the RM tires during the race. Also, I drove through the pit entrance during my first stop and had to do a lap on red tires. Cost me around five seconds all things considered and I was held up by the AI a few times as well. So not feeling great but I really don't need to win for the championship.

I think the Suburu is very nice for GT300 on this track.

I concurr with Fogbound, my Subaru handles the track quite nicely. However, no one should worry about me pushing them off the podium since with all the weight I'm carrying, I'm SLOW. I've just completed my first run and it was very uneventful. The race (which I won) was actually a 200 pointer because the game noticed all the weight I'm carrying and gave me high points!! I'm still trying to figure out my pit strategy, so I have not noticed anything unusual about the tire wear.

I had a test race in the RX-7 after i had done both of my races. its fast. time was over one minute better than the Dome, with 2 super massive off's. Easily done 1'14.xxx

GT500 race wasn't better, with the Dome arguing when I had to reverse, as it kept going 1st, reverse and so on for 3 secs at least. Also had 2 off's at the first corner due to cold tyres, and almost missed the pits with orange tyres. I reckon I Screwed up big time. 🤬

Something weird happened in GT300. Somehow managed to get my fastest lap twice.
other than that, it was very uneventfull.

I think some choice words were directed at me, but thankfully I could not hear them over the noise being made by my Subaru's engine as it strains to get every last ounce of speed.

I was actually surprised by the contact since the last split showed I had a 3 second lead at the start/finish line. Obviously, the Mits FTO is at full throttle, and my Impreza is just getting going, so the margin disappeared immediately.

Another good race everyone with some more close finishes so well done all:tup: Personally although I enjoyed the race I struggled to find the pace I needed and also wasn't helped by getting shunted in the final hairpin by the AI

Finally, congratulations to SagarisGTB who with his win wraps up the GT500 championship. A fully deserved victory, your consitently fast pace particularly through the full races through out the season has been astonishing. Congrats

OUCH, I missed third by a 10th of a second to Speedemon08....

That's what I get for going back and running a clean race without a bump from the Mits FTO.

I guess I needed that little "push" from the FTO to find another 10th on the track!

Yay, even with my pit lane error, i still had the pace to take her home.

I don't think I quite have the raw pace of Austin or especially East, but I do have the ability to put together a stint with laps within 2-3 tenths of each other. Also, it comes down to aggressive overtaking and sometimes hard work (like in Hong Kong race).

Still one round to go though, I'll try to win that too, if I have the time.

Thanks. Looks like Motegi East was my strong suit with how I did in SuperGT and the V8 Supercars series.

With that, it's on to the section of Tokyo where it has everything for the sports fan. Including a race track!

I came pretty close to fast lap in GT300, that is pretty exciting! You guys have amazing speed. The thing that I find really impressive is the amount of laps you are getting at said speed. Good work. I think one of my big issues is locking up the front wheels. I should sand some callous off of my thumb so I can feel the buttons better.
