Round 6
Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course; 5 lap Sprint Race
Deadline 11.59pm GMT Sunday 17th January
Round 5 saw some big changes to the field in both GT500 and GT300 and some very close racing. Several drivers share the same points in the overall standings, this would be a great race to put some space between yourself and them!
Please note that the poll above is for Suzuka Circuit!!
As always, only mention the first 2 split times.

To me, I believe the key to getting a good lap time is how one takes the Esses after Turn 3. Make a mistake there, you'll lose plenty of time and it could ultimately cost you a place or two in the results.

The other key corner is the first s curve after 130R. If you brake a fraction too late you will enter the corner too far to the right and lose momentum considerably. I was having problems there at first, but i've sorted it out.
The rest of the course is quite simple. Because of this fact, I used to use this course as a test track to compare road cars on N3 tires. Made quite a large powerboard too. But racing here with a powerful lightweight racecar on sticky tires is a whole different proposition.
Haha, it WAS my test course, from 2005/2006 when GT4 came out.
Im having fun though. Last couple weeks felt like a chore to participate, but ive got some mojo back now. 👍
Edit: Im was running about 28 dead in the first sector on the majority of flying laps, I think. Do not remember T2 as I wasn't benchmarking myself there. I have got a run made, but Ill try to better it tomorrow afternoon.
It isnt really proof, but whatever. It turns out my first run at 6'24.3 was actually good enough to win. I had a few runs in 6'21s, with great laps around 1'14.3, but i knew there was time there for the taking. Didn't really think I could put it together though. After quite a lot of driving on saturday, I started a run with two laps being near as hell perfect, and then two good laps. I was nervous as hell on the last one, I thought I would screw it up but I just kept nailing braking points and hitting the turn ins and my last lap was 1'14.140. I was pretty excited with it. It was like getting gold in a really tough license test (not GT4 though, golds are way too easy in this game).
