Round 5 saw some big changes to the field in both GT500 and GT300 and some very close racing. Several drivers share the same points in the overall standings, this would be a great race to put some space between yourself and them!

Please note that the poll above is for Suzuka Circuit!!

As always, only mention the first 2 split times.

To me, I believe the key to getting a good lap time is how one takes the Esses after Turn 3. Make a mistake there, you'll lose plenty of time and it could ultimately cost you a place or two in the results.

yeah your right. I lost 2-3 secs when I stuffed up there

The other key corner is the first s curve after 130R. If you brake a fraction too late you will enter the corner too far to the right and lose momentum considerably. I was having problems there at first, but i've sorted it out.

The rest of the course is quite simple. Because of this fact, I used to use this course as a test track to compare road cars on N3 tires. Made quite a large powerboard too. But racing here with a powerful lightweight racecar on sticky tires is a whole different proposition.

If this is your test course Sagaris then the rest of us have no chance!

ive also tested some other race cars 1-2 rounds back, like the LM NSX, but before that it was a while since i used the track.

T2 in GT500: 0'53.ish
GT300: 0'57-8.xxx

Haha, it WAS my test course, from 2005/2006 when GT4 came out.

Im having fun though. Last couple weeks felt like a chore to participate, but ive got some mojo back now. 👍

Edit: Im was running about 28 dead in the first sector on the majority of flying laps, I think. Do not remember T2 as I wasn't benchmarking myself there. I have got a run made, but Ill try to better it tomorrow afternoon.

im about that in GT500

I guess I am not too far off the pace, my GT500 best T1 is 28.6 and in 300, my T1 is 30.3.

"edit" Times sent!

:) First win in a sprint race.

It isnt really proof, but whatever. It turns out my first run at 6'24.3 was actually good enough to win. I had a few runs in 6'21s, with great laps around 1'14.3, but i knew there was time there for the taking. Didn't really think I could put it together though. After quite a lot of driving on saturday, I started a run with two laps being near as hell perfect, and then two good laps. I was nervous as hell on the last one, I thought I would screw it up but I just kept nailing braking points and hitting the turn ins and my last lap was 1'14.140. I was pretty excited with it. It was like getting gold in a really tough license test (not GT4 though, golds are way too easy in this game).

that 1'14 lap you posted is simply amazing. congrats

Yeah, great effort Sagaris, brilliant time! Should be a tight battle between the rest of us for second.
