So to the final round of another great SuperGT championship taking place in the capital city of Japan, Tokyo. With his win in round 6, SagarisGTB claimed the GT500 title but GT300 is still all to play for. Will it be kingofweasles or Austin343 who walks aways with the title? Gentlemen (and ladies?), start your engines!

General Information and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ABud or oldmodelt) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manner.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

• Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
• No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
• Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
• No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
• All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Sprint Race

• Arcade Mode>>>Single Race>>>City Courses>>>Tokyo R246
• 5 lap Single Race
• Weight penalty in effect
• RM tyres only
• No tyre wear
• AI @ your choice from -10% to +10%
• AI tires always set to RS
• Forced Pit Entry penalty system
• ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
• Gearing (top speed slider) is own choice
• Points: 6pts - 5pts - 4pts - 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
• 20 second penalty added to race time if you dont submit a time
• Top 3 take a 1% weight penalty to the race

While that GT300 Title is for the taking, the real story is "Will Austin come back for this one race to try and beat Kingofweasles to the GT300 crown?" (As i thought he gave up on racing in this series?).

I'm also starting to think that this race is almost going to be as bad as Seoul Central Reverse. The performance gap between my car and the AI's is ridiculously Skewed towards the AI AND said AI is downright ruthless here; You make a pass on another car and they'll just slam you into the wall without a second thought.

Still, i guess you just gotta "Man-UP!" and quit 🤬 about it, eh?

I'm happy with My GT500 car: Low Weight and lots of Power.
Starting to get real consistent, so I knocked off 2.2 seconds a lap form my first run

I gotta Question: how many of you guys use Dual Shock 2's?

Refer to the results of the poll associated with this thread to get a sense of the distribution; I use a DS2, as do most others. It's a common misconception that using a DS2 is a disadvantage in GT4; if you're skilled with it (and becoming skilled with a wheel is just as difficult), you can, on average, go just as fast as wheel users. As evidence, consider that holl01, who is equally adept with a wheel as with a controller and owns the record time for every single license test, used a DS2 to set his time in 42 of those 80 tests. Some combinations of car and track suit the DS2, and others suit the wheel.

Awesome. You have a SuperGT race going on.

It would be more realistic if it was on Susuka and/or Twin Motegi world circuit. That's is where the SuperGT GT500 and GT300 cars really race on.

If you do that...I will definitely join and post my times.

Time done, seems to be competitive with last seasons times but i've never been quick around here.

Times submitted. GT300 definitely better. Was able to draft all 5 laps.

Street courses seem to be more challenging to me. More stressful perhaps.

Like Oldmodelt, I drafted all race long to get some speed on the straight. Ended up in 5th place in the race. Actually sniffed at 4th once, but can not hold them off on the straights.

I really wanted to do well in both classes, I started practice early and worked very hard. I opted to work through each car from first lap to finish. I got through GT300 fine and started on GT500 when I realized I had another due date this week in V8. From that point forward is pretty much a blur.

To all:

I used AI of +9. I think. What did you all use? Nice race in the both classes.

Answer to Abud. Was only able to draft for first 2 laps in the GT500. The draft really helped Mr Slow here in the 300 class. Laps 2-5 were all in the 1'41 range. I had to really focus on the cars in front of me and not the track. Tunnel vision if you will. Any small mistake on my part and the five cars in the "snake" just took off and I had to hope I could catch them on the corners.

thanks a lot for promoting a great race series. I really had a blast and improved my skills considerably.

I ran +10 on the AI after some early frustrations with them being unpredictable. The only trouble I had was if they were catching me at the end of the straight, I had to trail brake the turn to keep them from hitting me. Some races I couldn't keep up and others I just moved right to the front.
