Superstars V8 Racing coming out Tuesday on PSN for $19.99

I will wait for some reviews and gameplay video in order to confirm a few things like cockpit view; cars; number of tracks; physics; etc. but I may get the game (reasonable price); unless the GT5 new release date announcement is Oct 26 :sly:

you'd be better off with the sequel, Superstars V8 Next Challenge pre-owned on disc imo

its a much better effort, with quite a few niggles from the first one sorted

This game is the first time that the series has hit the PS3 stateside(USA), so this has been our first opportunity, and hopefully it'll be great!

Now I don't have Superstars V8, the first title, but I do have V8 Next Challenge and I love It. Not the best in graphics, It has a deadzone, no fancy menu's or other supposed to be cool stuff. But It has very intense racing with 19 cars on track. It has full race weekends with practice, qualify and 2 races and you can set up your car the way you want, and really feel the difference. Now I think the first title didn't have cockpit view. But If you are serious about racing games and like packed races with good AI as opponents, I would go for It. Would even be better If it was V8 Next Challenge, because I am feeling a little bit lonely on line these days.

I use to be very excited about the Superstar V8 games but not anymore. Since I have a G27 and tried Next Challenge (both PC version), I never will buy a game from Milestone again.

So, no it's not worth your money.

UK Plus Members had a demo and the game 2 weeks ago. If we [Plus at least] don't get a demo, I can't see any sense in buying this game!

I don't know why the PlayStation Network bigwigs dont give us racing game demos, like WRC. Maybe it has to do with 'Merica's lust for killing sims? I don't know...

I bought it.. Its 🤬.. Its more of a controller game rather than a wheel.. FFB is 🤬.. The deadzone is 🤬.. And there are no advanced wheel settings.. It looks good thats about it.. Its ok for the kiddies but nothing to be taken seriously..

P.s.
Ok so it isnt really that 🤬.. After gettin over the deadzone of the wheel it isnt too bad.. Its rather enjoyable.. Again i say its not to be taking seriously, this is like the run and gun of racing games, just for giggles and 🤬 ...

I don't know man...

Feeling pretty raked over the coals because we (North America) didn't get a demo and UK Plus people did! Something tells me that they are not too confident about their game. Even the new NFS has a demo. , Criterion did put out a good demo for BOP. They're not afraid to let us put it to the fire.

For anyone curious about this series You can check fellow GTPeers feedback(reviews, game play footage, etc) in these threads:

Just a warning:

They all regard the second delivery of the series-Next Challenge- that was an improvement built up on the first one(more cars tracks, better handling and graphics) which is cheaper on:

than this PSN version,so...

It was a funny game, love the tracks, good cars and AI too but don't expect a simulator...:indiff:

SSV8 was the absolute 2nd worst racing game (after Anarchy Rush hour) I have played in my life. It is constantly glitched (would need restarting after every 1-2 races due to the force feedback on my g25 deciding to stop working) and was pretty bland.

SSV8 Next challenge though and all the SBK games by blackbean are much better and worth buying.
